Wasn't catherine blamed before Duscur and Christophe?
That's what I thought, but after talking a bit about it with @maelor321 (hi!) some time ago and double checking Nopes' script, it's actually the inverse!
Chris "loses" his way and Cass has to leave the Kingdom afterwards, because Lonato accuses her of regicide.
She becomes an outlaw (how the heck did House Charon even allow this to happen, Cass was their heir! And if she becomes an outlaw, then it means the crown - Rufus - agreed ?) and runs to Rhea :
Catherine: Didn't I tell you? I was born into House Charon, in Faerghus. They used to call me Thunderstrike Cassandra. I was implicated in a plot to kill the king. It was a totally false accusation, of course. I had to flee the Kingdom, and the archbishop took me in.
And then becomes Cat.
Also why is Katherine with Vincent they don't match she could do wayyy better
Marigold Bob ship kid when
That already exists!! Here's Catherine, I made her in 2023!! :3
Goodness, I'm having "justice is an illusion" flashbacks with lolcalised!Catherine
"There are no right or wrong answers in war, but I still hope the goddess will guide us to make the right choice"
You're not making any sense Cat, and this runs contrary to your character's story : Catherine doesn't know anymore what's the "right" choice from what is the "wrong" choice, so she decided that whatever was Rhea's choice is the "right" choice, because she doesn't have faith in her own abilities after the "Chris tries to kill the pope because some racists told him to" story.
JP!Cat though makes more sense, Billy being Rhea's successor, whatever they do is "the right choice" - and yet, to her, it's never enough, in war, they must do "more" than simply pick the right choice.
Aka, it's not because you're doing whatever you're doing "for the greater good" that it's acceptable or even enough - and then wonders if the Goddess thinks like her, or not.
Truth to be told, I've seen people call Cat the most misunderstood and overlooked character from the franchise, and while I can't really say I agree because Ralph exists, Cat is either completely flanderized by the fandom in some "she loves rhea she bad" way, or in "cathmir" shenanigans.
Not to say everyone should suddenly start to post more about Cat, but imo she's a character with a lot of depth for this game - even when avatar pandering exists to pretend the bond she has with her Lady doesn't exist, something Nopes corrected.
since you've posted a bit about catherine, do you know why some fandumbs believe she got a crest of serios?
Fandumb?
I guess it comes from the support where she tells Seteth Rhea rescued her?
But, uh, Rhea can nurse people back to health just fine given her rank in light magic without needing to give them her blood, but, uh, first and foremost...
Cat already has a crest !
Rhea can't give her a transfusion of her own blood, because no human is supposed to be able to bear two crests, save for the ones experimented upon by Agarthans and we know how many tries it took them to get a viable sample.
Maybe this thing popped up in some Rhea BaD "bcs she as bad as uncle!!!!" takes, or trying to explain Cat's attraction by flanderising her, idk.
Putting 1+1=2 only now but,
There's a fascinating character exploration/analysis to have about Catherine being so similar, at least in surface, to her lady's past self, aka Seiros the Warrior.
They're both "blonde" and wear a white sort of outfit with their cape being red inside.
Cat's hairtie is even dark pink/red, reminiscent of Seiros's pink one.
Both are associated to swords and both define themselves as warriors who serve someone or act as that someone's sword, Seiros the Warrior was the Goddess' sword and Will (apparently !), while Cat calls herself Rhea's sword.
Hell they're both known for using sword and brawling techniques !
Both also have to use aliases because they cannot use their real names after being made targets (Rhea and Cassandra), and both sought refuge in some place that welcomed, supported and ultimately saved them (Garreg Mach and Willy's Enbarr).
Still their situations are pretty different and there's the hilarity between them being similar when Cat is a descendant of the Elites who proudly wields her Relic (albeit under Rhea's orders !) which would ruffle Macuil's feathers, or the fact Cat's not religious at all...
And yet there's something interesting at play, did Rhea saw Seiros the Warrior in Catherine, or what Seiros the Warrior could have been if she didn't have all of her bagage being the last nabatean and having to take revenge for her people ? Or what she would have wanted to be ?
Lbr, we all know Rhea's jealous of Cat being able to eat in bars and taverns with everyone while she can't even tell people she doesn't like hot drinks
Sure Cat is her own character and not Seiros lite, and ultimately I came up with this post bcs I noticed their pallet is sort of similar, but I think there's something that could be cooked from there, how Rhea has similarities with the three lords, but also to the people she's closest to even if player pandering means alone b4 u shenanigans
Re about Cat :
In Nopes she complains because her dad asks her to lend CoS troops, instead of asking Dimitri or Rhea herself...
But unless Count Charon is as dumb as Leopold, he knows pretty well Cat isn't the one who can lend him Church soldiers.
Of course Fodlan dgaf about non students characters, especially if they are affiliated to the Church, but I wondered, maybe Count Charon didn't want to ask Rhea herself to lend him some troops because he has a strange relationship with her -
Rhea is, after all, the one who welcomed his daughter when she was hunted by the Kingdom and the reason she's alive, Dad!Charon, whatever was his position during the "Cassandra hunt" wasn't the one who protected his daughter, Rhea was.
Maybe he feels already to indebted to her to even ask her, in person, for more soldiers?
As for Dimitri...
