  THOSE sweet words, uttered by just a small child, grant him joy & even a bit of hope. He wondered, to himself, how a single being could bear the weight of such a promise, a promise as heavy as the world itself ( & child, you are not Atlas ! Why do you place a hefty burden on your shoulders ? )

  AMIDST his thoughts, there is a soft chuckle that bubbles up from his throat. It was clear how naive she was, & instinctively it had induced a laugh, though it was meant in goodwill. Many would simply find her words to be lack of meaning & genuineness, even barren as some would say, but he is of the minority that places faith in them, praying silently that they may be sincere.

     ❛     THEN you better be the first person I see when I return, or else I’ll be saddened that you didn’t keep your word. I just know though that you will come, even if everyone else thinks otherwise.     ❜
