AU DC Fans

     How about an AU where instead of Batman/Bruce Wayne picking up the orphaned Acrobat it’s Selina Kyle. Dick Grayson runs away from the orphanage before Bruce could adopt him and is found and raised by Selina. Who knows very much about how hard life can be and takes him in. Adopting Dick as Catlad and he will grow up to be Nightclaw under her care.

     As Catlad his first meeting with Batgirl ended with him getting a bruised cheek and utter infatuation. Which Selina decides she is going to make sure he knows exactly how to woo. With having him watch how she woos Batman so it was inevitable that h becomes a worst flirt then canon.

    Catwoman teaches him all the tricks of the trade as Catlad and receives only the best education they could get. When he becomes independent he likes to consider himself the modern day Robin Hood. As while he steals for personal gain usually he also likes to help those less fortunate. Though comes in conflict with Batman as his methods are still unlawful.

     Though he can actually work with Batman whenever the man needs him and eventually gains some trust. Is also what inspires Batman to consider a partner besides Barbara. Soon taking in Jason, who becomes a kind of rival to Catlad. Though friendly not being the best word since Jason has a hard time seeing past the whole thief thing.

     Whether Jason dies or not can go either way, if Jason doesn’t die by the joker he eventually seeks out independence. As well as learns to work with others and does it well despite being brutal learns not to kill. If dies though, catlad is horrified and that’s motivation for when he decides he needs his independence fully and becomes Nightclaw.

Catlad HC

Just some headcanons of my Dick Grayson time as Catlad, though anyone can share and enjoy in them.

When Catlad first Debut it was a distraction, however, he ended up distracted first. Which led to Batman catching him but because said lad had only distracted by thugs they ended up teaming up. Batman offered to take him in, but Catlad refused but this plants the idea that maybe having a little help wouldn’t be bad. Credit to @inxvindicta for the idea of a team up.

Catwoman was very serious about his education so despite his willingness to come to every heist she would force him through the top classes. She ended up stealing a lot more than usual but that was to give her adopted child the best education. Even got him to go to Gotham Academy and with the special tutors, she could afford he was an A student.  Ain’t no one tells going to tell Catwoman she raise a fool that’s for damn sure.

When Catlad met Batgirl he had the biggest crush, like so bad that instead of running away he pretty much tried asking her out. To say the least he was rejected and kind of punched mostly on reaction since had just came right up to her. He had forgotten that technically he was the bad guy and being too forward was off-putting. He messed up that heist but this is when Catwoman begins to teach him how to treat a woman. He’s a lot more successful after that.

Catlad first cat was a pure white kitten that had been on the streets starving and mistreated. Selina had been the one to save it and brought it home along with food to which Dick instantly took to it. After the kitten got into the milk and spilled it all over itself, the cat was called Milky from then on. Credit to @prettykittykyle cause of the kitten.

Catlad met Jason just before he became a Robin like once and offered the kid food. Even if Jason was suspicious accepted the peace offering but Catlad doesn’t recognize Jason when he’s a Robin. Nor does he ever learn.

It was the death of Jason that makes Dick decide he can’t stay at Catwoman’s side forever and upgrades to Nightclaw. This is when he starts being a bit more of an independent entity. So was Catlad a bit longer then canon Nightwing was robin. Though he still helps out his mother figure whenever she asks. Especially since there’s always some asshole destroying her apartment home. In a universe where Jason doesn’t die, it’s the close encounter and fragility of life that shocks Dick to grow up.
