Chapter 18 of Cecelia and the Living Fossils is up! You can read it on web or on Wattpad. If you're new, you can also start from the beginning.

There's an incredible history of disability in the fossil record, and so much evidence of early humans making accommodations for members of their group with special needs.

Several Neanderthals from coastal cultures have been found with auditory exostoses that would've caused hearing loss over time. I tried to do as much research as possible on late-in-life Deaf and HoH experiences and worked on this chapter right down to the wire. This is really going to end up being kind of a two-parter where Pine has to decide what his future will look like--or whether he wants to have a future in the modern world at all.

I'm in love with your story so far! I wanted to do a lil drawing of Pine.

I had alot of fun adding in small details to his design, such as the raptor claw necklace, the pins referencing the novel's cover art and the feather in his hair that Cecelia gave him in the story.

I'm also currently working on a story that takes place in the paleolithic era and have a couple neanderthal, human, and denosovin characters of my own, I couldn’t help but do a few sketches of Pine and Ceclia interacting with my own ocs(Ayla, Koda, Ammara, and Esta). I sketched them really fast so ignore terrible quality.

Chapter 16 is live, and for the first time in 30,000 years, so is Pine. 🌲

He can have a muffin, as a treat.

Cecelia and the Living Fossils is a story about a teenage necromancer who brings dinosaurs back from the dead--but definitely not early human boys or ancient, power-sucking god kings. Because that would be against the rules and also a humongous mistake.
