Move over, Chatroulette, it's Catroulette's time to shine!
Catroulette operates on a similar principle to the once-mighty random chat site. You load the main page, and a shelter cat appears. You can watch the cat in action and either choose to adopt him/her, or skip to the next cat.
We couldn't get past the first cat (seen above) as we couldn't stand to add another "skip" to the sweet little kitten's tally! The clever designers of Catroulette have chosen to log every person who skips over a cat and display the number of times the cat has been passed up for adoption. That's a heartbreaker, for sure!
The shelters at the heart of Catroulette are located in Belgium. Perhaps someday there will be global versions for shelters all over the world. It certainly is a great way to get to know your next adopted cat before you ever even meet face to face!

What's weirder? Freaking out Chatroulette users by wearing a bikini while lip-syncing to Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe, or that there are still people who use Chatroulette?

Catroulette
I dabbled in a little PHP coding yesterday and came up with a website that, when refreshed (and I don't mean they've had enough to drink), displays a random photo of a cat from my personal database of cat photos, (which are user submitted). You can check out Catroulette and send in your own cat photo here!
