Six years ago yesterday, Zeke and I weren't cat-parents. Six years ago today, #Spangle followed me home and adopted us. Happy Cattiversary, Mr Fluffy Trousers. On Saturday, I'll have had Enki for a year.  I remember the day he came, like...my friend had to get him from another airport 'cause I couldn't drive yet and the local airport wasn't doing pet flights 'cause it was too hot.  When he came and stepped out of his carrier, he walked over to me instead of to my friend and I was so happy.  He started freaking out 'cause he didn't know where his litterbox was.  And I'm happy to say he's never not used it 'cause I don't know if I could handle that (my friend's cat peed on his bed whenever she got mad at him).

Hmm...He's loving and patient.  I think the only time he's bitten me was when I took down his cat tree 'cause we were moving.  And I was shocked by how upset he was.  I really need to rebuild it.  Maybe on our cattiversary.  :)  And I think that says a lot 'cause I annoy the shit out of him.  Like, he'll be dead asleep and I'll move him to where I want him to be.  Or I'll grab him while he's running around and hug him.  Or I'll bathe him which he doesn't hate, but he doesn't love it either. Or I'll clip his nails which he does hate but my skin can't handle him--I scar too easily.

He's clever...he'll wake up when my alarm goes off and waits to see if I hit snooze or not before he gets all the way up.  And he knows that if he attacks my keyboard, he'll get my full attention, but otherwise he has no interest in it.  I taught him "up" but he'll only do it if he can see the treat because I did it a couple of times without giving him anything once I felt like he had learned the command, and I guess he's a "for profit" kinda cat. 

And he loves me.  Probably because I'm the only living being he gets to see on a regular basis. But it doesn't change that he's always my companion and checking to see if I'm alive.  So I love him, too.
