I think a funny option for having Spike and Angel in the Buffy reboot would be that the Shanshu prophecy has come to pass and they both got to become human. And they’re both just two old retired dudes living out their human days together in a cottage at the top of some mountain in the middle of nowhere, drinking people drinks, sunbathing and fighting like an old married couple.

Buffy shows up at some point for advice or something. And they’re both just laying outside in lawn chairs catching up on some much needed sun tanning, drink fruity little drinks with umbrellas in them, and they’re both wearing shorts and Hawaiian shirts and sun glasses.

And Buffy’s just like “wow. You guys suck.”

And they both raise their glasses a little and go “not anymore!”

She rolls her eyes and leaves without getting what she came for cause she doesn’t feel like dealing with them. They tilt their sunglasses down and watch her leave, then shrug and go back to enjoying the sun.

And Faith is there too.
