Personal Veronica Mars Fic Rec List
I found a new fandom and left a new fandom, all in the space of one summer. These are the fanfics I enjoyed most during my stay.
1. The Art of Lying Lilly, Duncan, Logan and Veronica, reigning 09ers of Neptune High, all have secrets they want to hide, secrets that could ruin lives and reputations. But the Fab Four are soldiers fighting to protect their town’s innocents from the corruption that pervades it. And Veronica Mars is their general.
2. Betty & Veronica She goes to Pan and infiltrates Neptune as Betty.
3. Reclaiming Normal Normal girls are supposed to have typical jobs and want nice guys. Nice, normal guys probably don't burn down community pools or live in luxury hotel suites. But when you’re framed for murdering gang members, school buses mysteriously crash, and bodies wash up on shore with your name written on them, it's time to create your own definition of normal.
4. Stuck in the Middle With You On the night Lilly steals the sex tapes and Aaron goes after her, a split-second decision saves Miss Kane’s life. It also puts Veronica in a very awkward position, and breaks Logan’s heart along the way. The two ultimately find comfort in each other.
5. Cassette Tapes What if someone had found the Echolls/Kane tapes before Lilly? What if Lilly Kane was never killed over those tapes? The study of how one event can change the course of many people's lives forever.
6. Dear Diary The pages on Veronica’s composition book flutter, and Logan spies his name. His name? What the hell? Crouching, he picks up her notebook and flips through. It’s not her English assignments, after all. It’s a diary.
7. I Never Needed Anything More After her horrendous junior year of high school in Neptune, Veronica cannot wait to get away to a beachside town on the other side of the country for the summer with her dad. But maybe escaping her hometown properly means getting tangled in some new feelings she'd rather not have to unravel.
8. Little Red Once upon a time, a plucky college junior donned a red hoodie and butch boots, fired up her rusted-out Le Baron, and went on a road trip to Palm Springs (to visit caustic Grandma Mars). Along for the ride (because who doesn't love road trips?) are: her vivacious heiress roommate, Lilly, whose constant gift-giving hides a secret agenda; Lilly's somehow-too-perfect, future-senator brother; and Lilly's surly celebutante ex, who sports a suspiciously toothy grin, and a sackful of red apples.
9. Sweet Invention It took two years, three days, a couple of missing siblings, fake dating and only one bed to get to this point, but hey, you know what they say about the ones that come easy.
10. What the covert yield Logan Echolls drifts through a very different Neptune.
11. bless this mess Even if Lilly had lived, things still would have fallen apart.
Season 4 doesn't exist in my mind. Since these are mostly pre-series or Season 1 and 2 AUs, clearly I have mixed feelings about Season 3 and the movie as well.
