you know what, there's this poem by Catulus i once studied in 2nd year Latin class, and every now and then it pops back in my head, even though it's been 7 years. and this morning i realised it very much applies to my gender, even though it's supposed to be about love.

here's how it goes:

Odi et amo Quare id faciam, fortasse requiris Nescio sed fieri Senti et excrucior -Catulus

there's a very specific way to read it, because some of the words are kinda tied together (we called it "scanderen", literally "chanting", which sounds like a cult but is more like a graeco-roman way of doing poetry), but since english is not my first language and i don't know phonetics, you're gonna have to do it with just the poem.

anyways, translated to english, it goes as follows:

I hate and I love Why I do that, you might wonder I don't know, but it happens I feel it and it's tearing me apart

and that's kinda how i feel about my gender at the moment.
