Visited the grandparents briefly prior to our gig at Lennon’s; the set went well and we managed to make some money off the fruity which was entertaining to say the least; interestingly, everyone’s favourite person wasn’t present, to our surprise.

Felt pretty horrific today as a result of the amount of wine I consumed last night; after a quick band practise, the rest of the day was spent at home, predominantly sleeping.
Headed to Chris’s house today to begin work on new material; things are coming along nicely.
Played in Brighton today, which was pretty fun; the drive isn’t as far as I thought, and it was especially quick on the way back (or would have been, had the A303 slip road not been closed and I hadn’t taken the wrong exit and ended up in the middle of the countryside, kind of freaked out, furthermore when another road was closed and I was sent down a particularly narrow one); set was tight, and it was fun playing with Marko for the first time in a while.
The drive to Guildford is actually reasonably short; it was kind of weird recording with people who would probably be my friends had I ended up at Surrey, and also gave me more conflicting opinions about whether I’m happy with the degree I’m doing, which have been somewhat ongoing since a few weeks into term - on the plus side, the day was a lot of fun (as it always is being in the studio) and it was nice to see Bex briefly too.
The Bath Christmas market has caused a bit of a clusterfuck at the train station, but I managed to get a seat on the way home; Chris came over this evening and we worked on some new material — tomorrow we are in the studio to record Kelso properly, which I am greatly looking forward to.
Caught the train at about half two today, and drove us all to the Royal Oak (in Charlton this time) for a steak and chips to celebrate mother’s birthday; the gig tonight was good, the crowd were very receptive which was cool, and Fickle Friends are kind of the epitomisation of everything I’m into right now, kind of similar to my 80s side project; good night overall.
Played the Christmas Lights Turn On at home today; this was a lot of fun, as the crowd was pretty huge for our second set; nice to be back in Winchester and see the others, and we enjoyed a meal at a pub in Littleton afterwards as well.
