Our next stop on our day of art in Austin was the @blantonmuseum on the campus of @utaustintx - first to the this exquisite Ellsworth Kelly exhibit in its own building. Reminiscent of a church, it’s a secular celebration of color and light, and the shifting light of the day and seasons. There were panels of color block black and white, representing the stations of the cross, and the 18 foot wooden monolith (the “altar”) was carved from a single piece of wood. It was beautiful and breathtaking 🟥🟧🟨🟩🟦🟪 . . @joatwood @gutzrobert @vckijonespittman @karenmaness #austin #texas #utaustin #blantonmuseum #ellsworthkelly #colorandlight #stainedglass #secularchurch #art #artist #artistsoninstagram #texasart #theartofthehollywoodbackdrop #oldfriends #artteacher #beauty #grateful (at The Blanton Museum of Art) https://www.instagram.com/p/CptT1R3tGOf/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

They don't share any familial links but are affiliated to the same clan : Sharks. That's why they share the same last name.

Just before I got sick, I was lucky enough to have a nice home cooked dinner with my old friend Malani and her fiancé at their Nashville home! Malani and I did longform improv together as part of the group, “ForPlay” (Get it? Huh?? Get IT?!!???) at Second City L.A.! It was so lovely to see her and catch-up!!! Also, these photos, taken in quick succession, are a perfect example of the fact that I’m an absolute ball of energy (when I’m healthy at least) and I never quite stop moving!!! #nashville #improvisers #oldfriends #homecookingontheroad #transwoman (at Nashville, Tennessee) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cj3NZ8Kps6R/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Gunung Geulis, 2023.
JASPER- “Daryl!?? “
Walking in the neighborhood, you just never know who you might run into...
DARYL- “Uh, yeah that’s me. Who are you?”
JASPER- “Seriously, Daryl, you don’t...
DARYL-OMG!! Jasper!!? You looks so...”
JASPER- “What, straight?”
DARYL- “I was going to say, different.”
JASPER- Well, that too I suppose, I heard you and Tat bought a house here in town and were moving back to Newcrest.
DARYL- “Yeah, just moved in a few weeks ago.”
DARYL- “So who is the little guy over there raking your leaves? I may need to hire him to do mine!”
JASPER- “That is my son, Daryl. His name is Amos He will be 8 in a few weeks.”
DARYL- “An 8 Year-old son!!? It’s been that long?
JASPER- “Yep, it sure has. Time flies. I have a 15-year-old stepdaughter inside. You should come in and meet her and my wife, Rylie.”
DARYL- “I’d love to, but Tat is making dinner, so I need to head back to the house, but maybe we can go out for drinks some evening and catch up?”
JASPER- “Good to see you Daryl, and I will be looking forward to hearing from you. I am at the same number. Any evening is good.”
DARYL- “So good to see you Jas, and I will call you, soon!”
Hello Again
So, where have you been?
Your travels and experiences hang on you
like silken scarves and shiny buttons.
Your walk is different. That little lift
off the balls of your feet has been replaced
with a rolling off the heel like an athlete
preparing to engage the enemy.
Taller, maybe. Meatier. Your bones
holding you together with structural stability,
a skeleton in its prime supported
by a seasoned cast of muscles.
I do believe your eyebrows are thicker,
more functional for staring off into
equators and sandy sunsets.
Mostly, it’s the voice. Steady, like a boat
moored at all four points with just a hint
of slack to absorb the motion of our
conversation as it ebbs and flows.
I do miss the old you, though.
Because I felt in control.
I guess I haven’t changed at all.
