ACT III — NO MAN, NOR GOD
The first case was discovered in Aura. A man, a humble stable owner, walks around for a week feeling odd - As though he is sleepwalking, or ate some bad broth. Then, the fever starts — so hot the blistering summer sun could not dare compete. He collapses to the ground one day, resigned to his bed for an indefinite amount of time. He spends his hours falling in and out of sleep, only to be waken with piercing headaches and frequent vomiting over the side of the bed. Not two weeks later, the red bumps start to appear along his skin.
To his family and friends the odds look dismal, and that’s because they are. Despite a vigilant fight, he dies.
And he was not the only one.
Life is business as usual among the four kingdoms, until one day a man drops dead after experiencing an unusual string of symptoms. A widespread outbreak of smallpox has come about, with just under half of the population coming down with the illness. The best chance of medicine? The Center Aisle, where slowly the general masses begin to overcrowd in hopes of treatment. Many draughts and potions are on the market, claiming to “cure” the mysterious disease, most obscenely overpriced. But is the gamble with one’s life worth it? You decide.
If you would like to have your character be one of the many affected by smallpox, simply message the main saying “infected” so I can keep track!
