"Well, baby, you surely are having fun." Azagi had had her fun with the Mer washing up on the shore, but the real fun tonight was wherever her vampiric leech friend and fuck buddy appeared to be.

She'd been having fun, too.

Dissipating through the State at will, chewing up a fraction of the souls she would normally. The Hellfire at the shores of The Forgotten hadn't even taken up all that much, either.

"Open your mouth and let it all in, sugar. I want to see you feed; at your most powerful because, baby, nothing can stop me tonight."

She dissipated closer to him, behind him, slender finger tapping him on the shoulder. Laughter escaped her - genuine laughter - at the power that coursed through her. "It's as though I'm using just a fraction of the soul for what would usually cost a full one. It's fucking glorious."

Given that the Invidias had spent since October shrouded in darkness through no choice of his own, something about sitting in a darkness of your own making felt intoxicating with power to him. Maybe it was the hum of anticipation running through his veins over that was about to happen. Something bubbling under the surface, angry and hateful, but patient. Not that in his former state he would have been able to do anything.

But now he was graced once more with sight. Soul reserves had been topped up by outsiders of the state, Lan no stranger to travelling just to give himself the extra boost if needed, not enough to take him back to his fullest power, but enough to enjoy what was coming.

Jack’s room wasn’t a strange sight to him, having been there on several occasion when the two of them were concocting mischief and massacres, but for the demon this was no longer somewhere that could be considered a safe space, merely the hovel for a traitor to crawl back into after stabbing him in the back. He took his time shuffling through drawers, eyeing up any trinkets or books that he could sneak away with when he eventually left. But for now, he had other matters to attend to.

He could wait in the darkness, he’d done that for months, and while the vampire was yet to show his presence, Lan proceeded to wait, eclipsed in the darkness of the room, lights out, curtains drawn, slender frame and long limbs hanging over a chair in the corner, eyes fixed unblinking on the door.

When the vampire emerged finally, Lan’s expression barely changed, but his voiced remained deep and menacing. “You’re finally home. I missed you, sweet cheeks.”

Things were going better than he expected with Jessie gone; in all honesty, he had expected Jack to have gone off the rails by now - to have to fight to claw him back from the edge time and time again. Yet, things were still somewhat normal in the Davenport household. "Need anything for Bite whilst I'm out getting supplies for Firelight tomorrow, pumpkin?" He teased, throwing a cushion from the couch in Jakoris' direction as he passed. He missed Jessie, of course, but it was reassuring to know that they could function without her; not that he was under any illusion that it would last forever, but being able to do so for now was enough.

Mal: I need orders

Mal: I got the blood here, I helped get it in

Mal: I don't want to leave, I want to be helpful but I'm struggling with being here so... I need orders, please.

Azagi: So, you survived huh?

Azagi: That fucking sucks

Azagi: Speaking of surviving, you seen our girl Freyja?

Azagi: ( 10 mins later )

Azagi: Actually I'm glad you're not dead... That pleasure is reserved for me.

“You’re a very hard man to find alone, Jack.” The wrathbearer spoke in the darkness as the other returned to his room. It was dangerous, going to the manor but that seemed to be her only option. Lucky for her, he was alone and Lan wasn’t trailing along after him. “As fun as our last encounter was, I won’t waste your time, babe. You know my boyfriend, and for both our sakes you need to keep your mouth shut about me, and htn. Your best bro Lan won’t be very impressed to find out you fucked his girl... Or rather, I fucked you but hey, details right?” Azagi smirked, knife twirling around fingertips to give herself something else to occupy her mind rather than replaying the fun they’d had in her mind. “And I had to find out from your beautiful witch friend that you know each other... Don’t suppose that means you know where he disappears to every time he leaves?” 

Lan was the one who was supposed to be envious, but in the back of Azagi’s mind that was always something that bothered her. Did he have something better elsewhere? Was she just what he came to when he got bored wherever he went off to? She didn’t like not knowing yet she was expected not to question him.

“Azagi, by the way. Azagi Rabaz.”

It wasn’t unusual for Jahi to disappear for periods at a time. It was rare if she’d give anyone a warning before doing so, and she never gave warning of her return. The only regularity in her disappearing acts was Azarius normally being her first visit upon return, actually, he’d proven to be one of the only true consistencies in her life. A rare feat for her—- likely why she never mentioned it. She wasn’t even sure what she’d call it for herself, outside of the obvious ; a consistency.

At the sound of the door Jahi’s head rolled back against the backside of the chair. She picked a candy from her hand and tossed into her open mouth, twisting in the chair so her legs were tossed over the side. “ I thought I’d turn to dust sitting here waiting for you. ’

The human would have died. He couldn’t save them all, in fact he couldn’t even save many, but he could save the one that had been in front of him and so that’s what Malcolm did. He pushed the human out of the way before the collapse could crush him and then the next thing he knows is he’s on the floor and in severe pain. For a vampire, that wasn’t a good sign. He must’ve hit his head, because he didn’t remember much about the actual collapse, and seeing his right leg pinned from just above the knee and downwards under the rubble was a shock. 

Malcolm cried out, the pain radiating through him as he tried to move, to push the rubble from himself but it was making things worse. Was his leg even still there? He couldn’t feel it but then that wasn’t a surprise. “Jessie.” Mal choked out, almost silent at first before the name was spilling from his lips until he was yelling for his Maker. The constant pain meant it wasn’t healing, mixed with the light-headedness, he was sure he was losing blood. Malcolm needed help, and he needed it fast so that his vampiric body could start to heal.
