…Good point, I stand corrected.
I do think it’s a shame that Camilla was so neutered in localization because I believe that her bit in the Hoshido end is one of those things that’s supposed to indicate to the player that this isn’t actually a good end. Regardless of whether her portrayal is a win for women, her trauma in the main story is pretty well-realized and the note that she abandons her siblings even in the Nohr end is a hint that actually, this family is really fucked up no matter what and the whole “Nohrfam is the truly loving one” thing is false. Her character follows through on the setup of “so just how fucked up would someone have to be to do all this yandere stuff” (lots).
I mean, I do agree that it’s far from a necessary alt and we obviously didn’t need another Camilla, but as far as following Kamui to “we all float down here, you’ll float too” land it’s a surprisingly appropriate choice.
