consent is freely given. if you have asked nine times and they only say yes on the tenth, that's coercion, not consent. if you are holding them under some sort of ultimatum and they say yes, that is coercion, nor consent. if they are in a state where they do not have the ability to say no (intoxication, mental disability, age regression/large age gap, notable power imbalance, ect) and they say yes, that is coercion, not consent.

consent is specific. if they say "yes to x" but NOT "yes to y", then they have not consented to y, even if the two are associated with each other.

consent is informed. they have to know exactly what they are agreeing to, especially if there are any risks involved. if you mislead them or withhold information, they are not informed and you have broken their consent.

consent is enthusiastic. if they do not directly say "yes", then the answer is no. if they are hesitant or conflicted, then the answer is no.

consent can be withdrawn at any time. if they change their mind and you try to say "you agreed earlier", that doesn't matter. they have revoked their consent.

you either consent or you don't. "dubious consent" is a porn trope that perpetuates excuses used by actual rapists and does not reflect reality in any way, shape, or form.

i just don't see what's so complicated about this.

if you do not take solidarity with the victims, you are automatically on the side of the predators.

anyway thinking abt how i used to get harassed for "being an anti but faking a loli voice" but my groomers always got angry when i spoke in my natural deeper voice to the point where i gave myself vocal damage avoiding it during puberty. so it just is my real voice now. anything lower than a baby voice actually hurts lol

to summarize from last night, eden had a suicidal episode and mango wants to focus on the psa, so both will be stepping away from this topic in public. this does not mean that anything they had to say before is less important.

i'll be less active myself because lots of this is based on their input, but i will still be here.

if i could extend one wish to my lovelies in this community, it would be to send kindness to all of the victims who have come forward and to offer them support and community, both with this and in general.

they are not defined by what has happened to them. they have their own personhood, hopes, dreams, and needs outside of this.

if you really care about victims, you have to care for them outside of that victimhood.
