Midnight Hours by Cayley Thomas from the EP How Else Can I Tell You?
In her latest video, the end is nigh for Cayley Thomas and her ‘Blue Jean Baby.’
Though the clip has a warm vintage feel, it's not enough to hide the cracks slowly forming as the Canadian singer is forced to drag her lover home after one too many drinks. After putting him to bed, she then finds herself wandering outside in the thick snow, only adding to Thomas' ever-growing isolation as she's left to contemplate what the future holds.
The track, meanwhile, is gorgeously bittersweet, a sweeping folk pop waltz that has Thomas channelling her inner 60s girl group diva. As she explains via press release:
‘’Blue Jean Baby’ explores the pattern of feeling responsible for the emotions or actions of others at the expense of our own wellness. It’s like when you’re on an airplane and they tell you to put your oxygen mask on first before assisting other passengers.‘
Cayley Thomas’ debut album How Else Can I Tell You? is out May 1.

Cayley Thomas Two Minds.
It’s not bad! I wish it had a little more lyric wise, but it’s definitely not a bad song! Her voice is super pretty, and the song is comforting

Cayley’s new album How Else Can I Tell You? is a collection of songs that reflect upon a period of subconscious overwhelm and the subsequent shift into conscious thought and awareness. Recorded between Edmonton and Toronto, the album deliberately combines Hi-Fi studio production and Lo-Fi living room charm. How Else Can I Tell You? is fresh enough for modern indie rock ears to find familiar, with spells of synth and its modern production, all the while drawing on the fuzzy raw warmth of our favourite sounds from mid-century rock and soul.
Review: Cayley Thomas, “How Else Can I Tell You?”
"How Else Can I Tell You?," the new album from Cayley Thomas, comes out Friday - Jess muses on it here.
Having enjoyed “Blue Jean Baby,” a recent single from singer-songwriter, Cayley Thomas, I was excited at the opportunity to listen to her highly anticipated new EP, “How Else Can I Tell You?,” scheduled for release this coming Friday. Upon my first listen of this album, my ears were met with the undeniable signature sound and unique arrangements that I’ve come to know and enjoy from this…

With the world currently in chaos, Cayley Thomas' latest single is pretty fitting.
Though the Canadian singer might sound conflicted at times, 'Two Minds' ultimately soothes a weary mind with its dreamy folk pop swoon, as well as serving as a gentle reminder to take things one day at a time.
Calling it her favourite song on her forthcoming debut album How Else Can I Tell You?, Thomas explains via press release:
‘It is all about the negotiation and mental drama that the primitive part of my brain likes to produce when faced with a challenge. Luckily, I have learned to identify this state and am now able to intervene, bringing my higher consciousness into the equation to form a sort of thought tug-o-war.
This is one of the tragedies of perfectionism. Making it seem like the destination is too far to even bother. Because it keeps us thinking that doing a little bit is pointless. But doing a little is everything. You don’t get anywhere with ambitious perfect plans. You get there little bit by little bit.’
Cayley Thomas’ How Else Can I Tell You? is out May 1.
