Rebecca didn’t apologize until 1x09. Was the fandom discourse that she was an irredeemable monster and a total piece of shit until then? No, it wasn’t. Rebecca was “misguided” and “in a bad place” and “she’s wrong but we get it”

Figure out why fandom requires Nate to apologize but not Rebecca. Think about why Rebecca gets sympathy, empathy, and compassion, but Nate does not.

ok disclaimer that i don't dislike rebecca or anything but the difference in the reaction to her doing something that people who like her recognized as morally reprehensible (dating sam) vs nate doing morally reprehensible things is SO blatant. people were mad at THE WRITERS for doing HER dirty putting her in a place of doing something bad and even while recognizing it as Bad the discussions centered around how it would end, where it would go, what purpose it served, etc. rather than condemning her as a Bad Person etc (needless to say i saw no death wishes) whereas the bulk of the commentary on nate's actions completely overlook. well pretty much anything besides how much of an asshole he is now ETC.

I personally am not *against* Sam/Rebecca because I believe everything that could be problematic is not necessarily problematic. I would be against it the moment I see power dynamics come into play to hurt Sam, but I see your point, anon. I still think that we should compare Rebecca's actions in destroying Ted's reputation and the whole club to what Nate's doing here, which are honestly pretty similar but I think the audience has more sympathy and understanding for Rebecca for different reason, and one of them is, imho, the way we're conditioned to feel white pain more than the rest, even if we're not white ourselves, or as I replied to the other anon, the empathy gap.

Sure. And I never said he should be forgiven without apologising. I'm just saying he's not a an irredeemable monster only because he hasn't apologised YET.

Rebecca regretted, changed, she never knew Ted before...one episode for week, we have yet to see what is going to happen? why is wrong for the fandom to be at right now? only react of we saw so far, you keep jugging people for consume tv the way was intend this season, this you can't have feeling or opinion until the end, jesus is tiring, you all never saw tv before

All I'm saying is that Nate is worthy of being forgiven, especially in the context of this show. He's too damaged to break the unhealthy cycle of seeking love and hating himself so much to not be able to accept it.

so quick question how often do you update the Security Measures ‘verse? And how many more installments can we expect? And how well do you take praise because i love everything about that ‘verse and i want to jump into it just to give clint a hug and shove him towards bucky and watch from the corner like an invisible gremlin as they do the Thing™️

I mean I write as inspiration strikes or *cough* you know, as often as @thatsmysecretduh goads me into it, whichever happens first. So I can’t give you any kind of update schedule but I can tell you that my personal cheerleader has a vested interest in making sure I’m producing more content XD

But I’m really glad you love it!! It’s definitely one of my favorite ‘verses I’ve ever written!

62.  Are you a good singer?

Not even remotely.  I am HOH, so I can’t really hear myself in order to sing well. 

61. Do you sing to yourself?

Oh yeah all the time I love to sing, I’m just bad at it. 

57. How long does it take for you to get ready?

Depends.  I can be ready to leave for anything except a fancy event in about 15-20 minutes if I have to.  But to get dressed up nice for an event or something, from shower to walking out the door is probably an hour and a half?

43. Can you do any other accents other than your own?

Not.... really?  I tend to pick up the local vernacular anywhere I go, and I’ve lived all over, so if I’m talking to relatives in the south I pick up that twang, but when I call my family up north I’m saying things like uff da, and you betcha, and calling beverages pop.

20. Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?

I mean

I usually plan my endings, so no.  But there are stories with storylines that I wish I had explored more, like East of Eden. 

37. What’s the funniest story you’ve written?

Oh hands down the one I wrote with @remsyk-blog - Bump In The Night.  With werewolves and vampires, and the wolf that thinks Foxes Are Stupid. 

5- actually it’s 49. Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?

OMG no not at all, but I did read a Sailor Moon thing called Who’s That Girl that I followed for LITERAL YEARS hoping it would be finished and sadly it never was.

I would still read the end of that, tbh.
