Twelve years ago, I had a dream I didn’t fully understand yet: to collaborate with as many fans of Cate Blanchett as possible and create something special for her birthday.
Over the years, I’ve learned that collaboration through the things that make us happy is always possible. No matter how different we are, we can still connect, create, and meet one another through the people and art that inspire us.
Cate Blanchett is my favorite actress in the entire world. She taught me to see acting differently, to believe in myself differently, and to grow as a person. I feel incredibly honored to collaborate with her fans every single year and create this small gift of gratitude for her birthday.
This year, I asked fans to tell Cate how she makes them feel at home. Because home doesn’t always have to be a place. Sometimes, it can be the people who inspire us and make us feel understood.

gets so incredibly flustered over literally nothing
he can whisper dirty shit in your ear right in front of Jet with ZERO problem, but lord forbid you hold this man's hand LMAO
anyway, after that, y'all start holding hands more often
it takes a while for him to feel confident enough to hold your hand in public though

like, it took him MONTHS to work up the courage to actually hold your hand
just like Spike, he was tomato red in the face the entire time he was working up the courage to do it

wherever it is, when he finally works up the nerve to just go for it, his hands are SOAKED
like, they're so wet and clammy it's a lil gross
you can't help but giggle at him
finally he's picked up on the flirting and hints you've been putting down
"Wanna wipe off your hands and try again, champ?" you tease him
this only causes him to get even redder
he huffs and turns his head away, removing his hand from yours
"Now you've lost your hand holding privileges."
"Wah! No! I'm sorry! C'mon, hold my hand again! I promise I won't complain!"
after hearing your begging, he smirks and offers his hand back out (which is much dryer now)
after that, it's a miracle if you two aren't holding hands after that
definitely is the type of hand holder where his thumb rubs the back of your hand

I think that connections make us feel welcomed. It makes us feel home. And home doesn’t have to be a place, but the people you share it with.
This year i will ask you to send me a handwritten sentence that will later create a mosaic of different cultures, places and perspectives
All you need to do, is to write by your handwriting :

In addition to that, please add a pic of a place that you see as home: it can be a place in your country or something that means a lot to you. These will be used as the video background.

We’ve all, in a way, found a sense of home through discovering Cate. She’s changed how we see the world, brought us together, and sparked new friendships. More than that, she’s made us feel welcomed, connected, and part of something meaningful. Ibelieve this is our way of saying THANK YOU.

For the past 10 years I have been collaborating with Cate Blanchett fans around the world in order to make something special for Cate's birthday.
As the years go by, I find this project has grown to be more and more
meaningful to me. It’s not just a way to thank Cate and pay homage to her outstanding work, but also, a way to see how she has influenced so many people around the world.
It hasn't always been easy and I have learned a lot throughout the way. I've learned about love, about commitment, about morals and about creativity. I am very honored to share with you the magnificent work of 30 fans around the world in dedication for her birthday.
This year, I have asked the fans to dedicate a song. It can be a song that reminds them of Cate or a song that makes them feel as they feel when they get to watch Cate's work. Every fan also added a short note explaining their choice.
Cate will receive a printed edition of this project later
this year.

Cate Blanchett has influenced me and many more people through the years and this project is my way to say: Thank You. This year the project will surround MUSIC.
I think that one of the most influential things we have in life is music. Music is a tool to connect ourselves and to express things we cannot do with words.
This year, we will share a song with Cate. A song that means a lot to us and we want to tell her something with.
All you need to do, is to pick a song and send ONE sentence about why you chose this particular song.
HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT SONG? - GUIDNESS
The song has inspired you to go for your dreams just the way Cate does.
The song can help you express your graduate to Cate
The song can show how her words made you think or feel differently about something - and made you act a new way.
