"RETURN TO THE SEA"
by Nomad Clan
Cited by @Wdwlls as "one of street art's finest female duos" and @GlobalStreetArt as "street art's hottest UK talent," the Manchester pairing of @Cbloxx_Nomad and @AYLO_Nomad has had a broad impact with their thoughtful visual stories, always significant to the local culture or history. Painting one of their favorite works of 2018 for @ShineOnStPete Nomad Clan created this visual tale on S 20th St next to the Pinellas Trail. In 1527 Spanish Conquistador Panfilo de Narvez accidentally landed in Tampa Bay. Traveling North and bringing disease and warfare to the Native Tocobaga Indians who had lived in the area for more than 600 years only to be completely wiped out over the next century, Narvez met his fate when karma sent a second storm to thwart his escape. (While the Tocobaga have virtually disappeared from the historical record one local non-profit is working to preserve the sites and stories of Florida's first people: www.sacredlandspreservationandeducation.org) @nomad.clan/
