i think this turned into some kind of future flowershop + alien au

“picking flowers from my garden again, are we?” she jumped at the male voice.

“no sir, i’m afraid i just got lost.” she covered flawlessly. indeed she had ventured here before, often clipping the uncommon flowers to sell at the alleyway market. they fetched a high price among the lower level humans who shopped there, looking for a small piece of the higher species weath.

“you liar. but i suppose you can’t help it, you’re only human.” his tone was playful and amused. it wasn’t surprising. the males of his species were known to be rather laidback. traditionally, they stayed home and looked after the land and children. the females of his species however, were more powerful and aggressive, usually they went out and worked taking care of and protecting the family.

when they had begun to intermingle with humans, both species found it odd that the other seemed to be the opposite. however, they quickly overpowered the humans, but rather than killing or enslaving them, they decided to simply leave them be. thus it became, the human are the lower poorer species, and they, the higher ritcher one.

“i’m very sorry to impose, i’ll be one my way.” she bowed respectfully and turned to leave.

“wait,” she stilled at his words and looked over her shoulder. “how much do my flowers sell for?”

“about 50 credits each.” she figured there was no point in continuing to lie to him, since he seemed uninterested in prosecuting her for her stealing.

“if i got you more, and ones in better condition then the ones you swipe, would you split your profits with me?” she was confused by this proposition. he knew why. “this wealth is not mine, but my families. i know they plan to cut me off if i follow my desires. therefore i wish to start being able to build my own money. would you help me?”

“why would you want the help of a little human who steals your flowers just so she can pay for rent and food?” she arched a brow and crossed her arms.

“because you are smarter than you look. and you’re willing to do risky things to keep yourself alive. i need someone like that to learn from.” he replied. she took a deep breath, thinking it over for a moment.

“if you want out of this house, and you can get me the flowers, i can get you a roof over your head and food. it won’t be easy and the place is small, but i’m willing to take you on, as a business partner of course.” she held out her hand for a shake.

“perfect. thank you for your help.” he shook her hand, flashing her a grin.
