Joseph was a man of God he believed that everyone should have a chance at true happiness. He was happy for John and CJ, for Jacob and staci and for charlie and sharky. But in his heart and soul he missed having someone. Someone to love and to rely on, someone to hold, someone to cherish, and someone to talk to. He missed his wife, but knew it was time to move on and find another to love. And lover he did. It started on a damp and cloudy day in early April. The compound was empty, most of his flock had left on his orders leaving him to pray. He wasn't sure what he was praying for but out of the blue the church doors opened with a bang.
“Is there something you need my child?” He asks keeping his head bowed.
There was a pause before he heard scoff, “Now normally I'm the one calling people, child.” The person, clearly male tells him. Joseph didn't recognize the owner of the voice. So he turned and he could only stare as he stood.
The man was tall and looked to be in his early to late twenties, with short and neatly combed raven black hair. Joseph couldn't tell what color the man eyes were due to his sunglasses. Joseph could see how pale he was but noted that under his clothes he was muscular, akin to Jacob. He wore a pair of ironed black dress pants, with a light blue dress and a black vest with gloves, with black wing tips. No part of his body was exposed, he was holding a thick looking black cane with a steel topper that was in the shape of a diamond, the cane was draped across his shoulders. Joseph mouth ran dry, this man command a powerful presence.
“You wouldn't happen to be Joseph seed would you?” The man asking walking slowly and carefully over to Joseph.
“Yes, that is me. Who are you?” Joseph asks it seemed that Joseph remembered in that moment to talk.
The man stopped a few feet from Joseph, “How rude of me. I'm CC robin.” He says holding out his hand out for Joseph.
Joseph looked the man over before taking his hand to shake it, “Joseph seed how may I help you?”
CC gave him predatory smile. “Glad you asked see, I was in the neighbor when I heard about the string of attacks and was hoping to offer my services.”
Joseph mouth ran dry once more at the mention of the attacks. People were being attacked by something and having to go to the hospital from blood loss. Many of the town folks were blaming sharky due to his nature. But how could it be him. Each attack sharky was miles away and with someone. It made no sense.
“How do you think you can help us Mr. Robin? I've been praying to God for answers for a solution.” Joseph says swallowing hard. CC could only let out a bark of laughter,
“Are you a man of God?” CC asks sitting down on an empty pew his cane hitting the hard wood floor with an audible thud.
“Yes, I'm a man of God I lead my flock.” Joseph tells him.
“A man of the cloth.” CC let out a tsk, “Figures that all the good ones are taken by the man upstairs.”
“You see offend Mr. Robin.” Joseph comments watching CC tap his cane against the hardwood floor.
“As I said Father Seed all the good looking ones are taken. But, I digress I didn't come here for that.” CC tells him leaning back in the pew.
“And yet you never did answer my question on how you plan to help us.”
“Never planned to. See I think I know what is hurting everyone I just need proof.”
“Proof of what?” Joseph carefully asks watching CC cane hit the floor.
“Proof of a creature long since though no more a creature relegated to myths and movies. There's a vampire here in hope county.” CC states like it the most natural thing in the world to say.
Joseph went to still there was a vampire here in the county. It was bad enough with ardyn pack and the sirens in silver lake but now a vampire? Then again it made sense.
“This county has a half vampire and I know he is not to blame but a fledgling is.” CC tells him with a sigh.
That through Joseph through a loop, “A fledgling?” He asks CC.
“A newborn vampire that doesn't know how to be a vampire. This poor soul was turned and never taught how to be a proper vampire. It's sad really.”
“How so?”
“Once they go like this, there is only on way to stop them.”
Joseph could only cock an eyebrow at CC, he seemed to know more than he was letting on but Joseph had to ask, “And how do stop them.”
Again CC gave him a predatory smile as spoke, “Why Father you kill them.” Joseph wasn't even phased by CC answer,
“You kill them, do you plan to do that yourself Mr. Robin?” Joseph asks him as CC could only smirk.
“I could always use the help of a man of the cloth. And I was hoping that someone would help me find my way.” CC explains, “Any man devoted to God is always handy to have when dealing with a fledgling.”
Joseph could only smile as he got to work getting his gun and a few canteens of water before leading CC out of the church and into a car with one of his flock driving them.
“I take it this is your first time in hope county Mr. robin.”
“Something like that. Haven’t been this far west in quite some time. I don’t miss it.” CC mutters as they drove past the countryside. “New york is far better, I just want to deal with this fledgling and go back.”
“Is that where your from?”
“In a sense.”
Joseph and CC talk for a little while longer, with CC learning more about joseph and his flock and Joseph learned more about CC. They soon came to the spot. And joseph heart stopped and his stomach dropped. This was the spot were he, almost drowned fox, where fox tried to take charlie and where john was hurt. Joseph let out a fearl growl, the driver went still. The Father never growled like that before.
“You okay Father?” CC asks, him seeing how tense Joseph was and the fact that he was growling for no reason.
“No, it’s nothing. Shall we go and see to the fledgling?” He asks getting out of the car and heading into the woods.
“If you say so father.” CC says with a shrug, following him out. CC stilled and sniffed the air and then let out his own fearl growl as headed deep into the woods following after joseph. The fledgling was smart, he was stalking the fledgling deep into the woods to a small river. And soon he found the fledgling, being held down onto the ground. It’s hands and wrists were bound behind its back with water snakes, and it was face down in the dirt, with joseph standing over it with a cunning smirk on his face. This man was very interesting to say the least.
“So you have your own secrets don’t you Father?” CC asks tapping his cane against his shoulder.
“As do you Mr. Robin.” Joseph tells him with a sly smirk. CC could only smirk back, as he walked over to the face down fledgling.
“You poor, poor, poor, poor thing.” CC coos as bashed the fledgling head in with his cane topper, blood, bone, and brain matter went everywhere. CC repeated this a few more times, before kicking the fledgling over and implying the fledgling through the heart with bottom of his cane.
Joseph didn’t even look phased by what CC had done, he merely said a pray, “A pray for the dead?”
“A pray for the wicked, even those he was hurting people he still deserve a pray.” Joseph tells CC.
CC gave him a shrug and went still, well fuck. CC sprite and pushed joseph down to the ground, he then shot up as the second fledgling came bounding out of the woods and full body tackled CC to the ground.
“Well fuck you!” CC hissed as he started to wrestle the fledgling to the ground, CC cane had been knocked out of his hands as he tackled Joseph to the ground. The fledgling pinned CC to the ground on his back, as it started to snap it’s jaws at CC. The fledgling drool hit him on the face a few times as he tried to find a way to get the thing off of him. As the fledgling reared its head up to try to bite CC a water lasso landed on the fledgling neck and was yanked off CC and tossed into the river.
“Why thank you Father.” CC says standing and dusting off his clothes.
“It truly is fearl isn’t?” Joseph asks watching as the fledgling snap and trass around in the water. CC had told Joseph in the car that fledglings were nothing but fearl animals.
“Yes, they are.” CC admits picking up his cane as he approached the fledgling and banished its head in and then stabbed the fledgling through the heart. The body hit the water with a splash. “You know that was fun.”
“I suppose it was.”
CC could only offer him a small smile, as he pulled out a car from his back pocket, “If you ever want to get drinks or talk. I’ve been told I am a great listener.”
Joseph took the card and the pair headed back to the car, where they chatted some more it was a good day for joseph.
End of line
