The messed up semi-immortal warlock and the old and technically immortal dog that isn’t even his. What if the creature you related to the most was a traumatized dog from a Bag of Tricks. What if you related deeply to this creature kept alive forever because it is technically a spell and not an animal, what if purely by chance you could read its thoughts and know that above all it hates being used in combat, what if you decided to swear to this creature that it could forever stay out of the fight if it so chose.
