Headcanons for hanging out with all the marines Astros
Hanging with the NASA Marine Astronauts:
they're all super busy allllll the time
so you guys kinda just hang out while doing tasks or different stuff together
hanging with John is fun
bc he usually invites you to his office
it's the most warming and friendly atmosphere
he'll be doing some kind of paperwork
and you'll just sit there and tell him about your day
he also really likes going to see shows
you guys will get free tickets to broadway musicals all the time
so you end up planning an impromptu trip to NYC together
sometimes you'll hang out with C.C. in the cafeteria at Johnson
he'll tell you about the new work out routines that he's been trying
you'll poke fun at him about the fact that he tried to compress his spine
by jumping up and down all night before his physical
he'll never live that one down
Gerry Car definitely won't let him
hanging with Gerry is also kinda fun
he's the one that gives you the most free passes to everything
he even gets you into the Skylab mock up facility
as long as you promise not to touch any of the buttons
which you don't
The lovely Astronaut Group 3 aka the “the new fourteen” having Water Survival Training in Pennsacola, Florida.
Must say always see photos of the second group having Water Survival Training never the third. So here is one.
53 years ago today, astronaut C.C. Williams died in a T-38 crash in Florida. To remember him, here are some lovely photos of C.C.’s wedding to his wife Beth in July 1964. Their first daughter was born in 1967 and was a year old when her father died; their second daughter was born several months after C.C.’s death.
As a peace offering from the last post, here’s all this other stuff I found on Pinterest, where they can’t seem to source anything so I don’t know where it’s actually from.
Today would have been the 85th birthday of Clifton C. Williams, also known as C.C. Williams. He was born on September 26, 1932, and he tragically was killed in a T-38 crash near Tallahassee, Florida on October 5, 1967. He was selected as an astronaut in the 3rd group in 1963, and he was the first ever bachelor astronaut. He found his love and married in July 1964. The four stars on the Apollo 12 patch signifies the three crewmen of Apollo 12 (Pete Conrad, Alan Bean, Richard Gordon) and CC Williams.
