Hello, everyone! I know we haven't posted much in a while, and I can't promise to be as active as we used to be, but we do still get asks, and I'm going to do my best to make sure they get answered. We are open for new asks, and I will be queueing answers for some of the asks we currently have in the inbox.

[CCFF admin] Rules Post

It’s been a while since we posted one, so here’s a reminder to our old and new followers about what we do here at CCFF.

What We Do:

Find individual fics. “You know, that one where Phil…” These are easier for us to find the more information we have. “I read this on AO3” “It was a short fic” “It may have been part of a series” are all the sort of helpful information we can use to find what you’re looking for faster. More tips and tricks can be found in this post. Please remember that we’re Clint/Coulson Fic Finders, so we search stories tagged as such. If you’re looking for a Clint/Natasha story (or gen, or any other pairing/threesome), we won’t search for it. If we find your Search, but it turns out to be non-C/C, the result will not be posted and your ask will be deleted.

Maintain a Master List of Lists for previously compiled lists of stories with a similar theme. Though we are not at this time adding new fics to the lists, if you notice one that has been deleted, please let us know.

What We Don’t Do:

Make recs. “Can you rec some good PWPs?” No. We can’t. There’s a difference between finding something and recommending it. We’re in the business of locating what you’re looking for, not promoting some stories over others.

Look for things that may not exist. “Are there any stories where Clint has a pet manatee?” Um… Maybe? We used to try and answer that type of question, but it’s really a waste of hours and hours of someone’s time (and extremely frustrating) to come up with “no.” Anything like this that has a yes or no answer will be deleted.

All About Searches:

We only answer inquiries about stories that have a Clint/Coulson romantic element. That’s what we read, so that’s what we know. Stories that barely mention C/C (e.g., there’s one line about one of them coming out of the other’s room, or similar) are not eligible for Search. Poly relationships (e.g., Clint/Coulson/Natasha) are also ineligible for searching, as we have always held the opinion that poly relationships are a separate pairing category. If you do not see the answer to your ask here, it’s possible we’re still looking for it, but you may want to check the notes for the recent assist posts, because the information might be there if the fic you’re looking for falls into one of the two categories I mentioned.

Please send all searches via the Ask link.

Please send each search in a separate Ask. If you send two searches in one Ask, we can’t respond until we find both, and it slows things down.

All searches will be published to the blog, since there’s almost always more than one person looking for something. If you don’t want your name attached to your search—goodness knows we’ve all occasionally been embarrassed about liking a particular story—make sure to send it anonymously.

Search results will not be prettily formatted. We guarantee you will always get an author, link, and title, but that is all we promise.

When we get stumped, we will screencap the inquiry and post for followers to help out.

No guarantees on how fast you will be answered. It might be under an hour. If we’re all busy or it’s a tough search, it might be longer.

All search results will be posted without additional warnings. Finding all the stories we do takes a huge amount of time and effort on the part of an entire team of people, and adding the steps required to keep up with an ever-growing list of trigger warnings is just not feasible. Most authors put warnings in the header of the fic, so as long as you read that before reading the fic itself, you should still be OK.

I am sorry (again) that I have been so neglectful of this comm. I’m trying to get back into things I know I enjoy, for self-care reasons, and this blog is one of those things. It is still running! I am so sorry to our faithful followers for the lapse in replies. Work has been incredibly busy for me, and I’ve been having computer issues. I will do my best to do some updates and get some answers out for you soon!
