Today, I added the first covid-related objects to the collection - two face shields made in the Maker Space at the local library. Some parts were made on their 3-D printers and the shields were assembled by staff and volunteers there. Eventually I plan on donating at least one of my homemade fabric masks to the collection, but I’m still using them at the moment. I’m not sure what other types of pandemic artifacts will find their way to the museum, but our archivist is actively collecting photos and oral history interviews.
