“i don’t understand this custom.” haru repeats for the nth time that night. it wasn’t even the first year with him being faced with the senseless and unnecessary tradition of dressing up as something even the slightest bit terrifying. though, there were more than enough barely there costumes he found himself frowning and squinting at as if to figure out which part of the small piece of fabric on that nurse costume was supposed to scare anyone. needless to say, he didn’t usually look forward to halloween, but one way or another, he ended up in a black cat onesie and dragged along the brightly illuminated streets by mina. she’s lovely enough to make the whole encounter a bit more pleasant, at least, but that didn’t mean that haru didn’t still feel utterly ridiculous. a powerful card as him shouldn’t be reduced to a faux ball of fur, ever. “why go through all of this trouble if i can just buy candy myself and then eat it? i wouldn’t have to walk this much or this far, nor would i have to put on something as ridiculous as this.” still, he supposed there was also something amusing about witnessing a human custom such as this from up close. “hey, let’s get something proper to eat afterwards, okay? it’s on you.”
