Over the last few months, he and Yoojung had established a routine. She’d come over to his house and he’d walk her to school, since it was pretty much on the way to the restaurant he worked at. Sometimes, she’d come a little earlier and they’d have breakfast together with his grandma. Today is not one of those days.Instead they’re rushing because Woohyun conveniently forgot that he took an earlier shift today which means he’s already late. So when the high-school comes into view, he decides to make a run for it to the restaurant. But before that, he hands her the lunch he made and drops a quick kiss on her forehead. “ Have a good day at school Yoojung! “ then he runs like his life depended on it.
with how often it happens, you’d think minghao would be used to it by now, but no. puffing up his cheeks, he tries to channel jaebum’s stern face. minghao fails miserably ( that look is probably patented ) and comes off as about to cry instead. honestly, it’s bad enough having a giant polka dotted bow on his head whenever he transforms into his alter ego without people laughing at it. even if that person is yoojung, minghao won’t stand for it anymore. anyone who makes fun of it is going to get a terrible punishment! it’ll… well, he hasn’t decided what it’s going to be yet, but it’ll be really bad.
but inter-league rookie training sessions always go like this. minghao transforms, yoojung teases him, and he sulks the whole time until it’s time to go home. he usually cracks at this point and offers to walk her to her house because it’s late and yoojung is his precious little underclassman friend, even though sometimes he’s sure she is way more mature than he is. just sometimes.
now isn’t the time to dole out a punishment, though. they stand together in the middle of the field, ready to train. and yoojung is still laughing at his bow, sheesh. minghao reaches over and taps her on the forehead. “shouldn’t you be worried about doing a good job, not how dumb my outfit is?” wait, heck, he just admitted his outfit is dumb—and it definitely is, but minghao would like to keep some shred of his pride intact. “a-anyways!” he says quickly, adjusting the hairpiece. with fumbling fingers, he slips his ring off and activates his trident. “let’s go over the drills before it gets late.”
hours later, minghao and yoojung walk home, a little bruised from training but still okay. the perfect punishment idea finally hits him and he stops before turning to her, holding back a snicker. “here.” he pulls the bow off ( another will pop into place any second ) and place it on yoojung’s head. “next time you wanna tease me, you have to wear this for three whole hours, okay?” minghao steps back and admires his handiwork. “but…” he gives yoojung a quick peck on the lips, just a brief brush of their lips as his mouth curls up. “it looks better on you anyway.”

Song: UP10TION - So Dangerous
“let me.. catch my breath..” yuna planted her hands on her knees, sweat rolling down her forehead. why did she agree to go with yoojung to participate in a marathon? beats her, maybe for the fitness ?
she stood back up again, holding her back with her face contorted into a pained expression, “yah! tell me why we’re doing this?!” she exclaimed, jogging up to the latter.
the transformation sequence and everything is seriously disorienting, but what throws minghao off more is looking into mirror and seeing a face that’s not quite his staring back at him. pale blond hair, eyes as blue as the sea, and a hint of something else around his lips, of magic. and then there’s the giant bow on his head which ruins the whole effect. before he arrives at nightshade’s designated meeting spot for the night, minghao makes sure to rip it off and stuff it into the garbage bin.
ten minutes later, he feels another one pop into place ( GREAT ).
they’re supposed to be meeting other rookies for an easy, inter-league cooperation/initiation/minghao wasn’t listening when the team leaders explained it thing. he figures it doesn’t really matter what it’s for. the important part is that he finally has a chance to meet some of the rookie heroes from other leagues. he likes the nightshade family, but minghao’s itching for the opportunity to bond with other rookies too—and possibly find someone newer to this than he is. being the inexperienced guy (aka ‘most likely to mess up’) in the group is not a feeling he likes and he doesn’t want to be in it alone.
his weapon is still in its hidden form, resting heavily on his finger, as he reaches the group. there are a few heroes meandering around the area, most of them in full magical getup with their weapons out. a lot of them wear masks to obscure their faces… which is a good idea when he thinks about it. why doesn’t minghao have a mask? it’d be better than the bow, geez. he waves to a few nightshade folks before finding himself next to a hero from team spiderlily who… huh.
she looks familiar. maybe it’s just a trick of the light or he’s tired and nervous. probably that. either way, minghao beams at her and says, “hey! this is kinda cool, right? i wonder what they want us to do tonight.” he’s been thinking about it for hours but hasn’t been able to come up with anything. wait, right, introductions before they get rambly and off topic. “ oh, min—i mean, triton! i’m triton, super rookie of nightshade, at your service.” it’s been less than a minute and he almost gave away his civilian identity. this magical alter ego thing is hard.
