In my last post, here, I talked about my Jewel cases and how I store them, however that method means I can’t put my paper cases/sleeves and double Jewel cases on the wall. Instead, I decided to put them in this cheap wire basket I got from Walmart and turned on its side so I can easily pull the CDs in and out. I can’t see the beautiful cover and CD art, but they still look pretty all lined up together. :)

My favorite part about collecting physical music, whether that be CD’s, Vinyl, cassette tapes, is seeing the art. CD’s specifically, I love the art of the actual discs as well. So I came up with this method of displaying them on my wall! More details and FAQ’s below. :)
Brief overview: I started collecting CDs when I was about 14 which means I’ve made a few mistakes when it comes to putting the CD’s on my wall. Most questions I get from friends/people online, etc.
How do you secure them up on the wall?
At first, I used scotch tape which, yeah don’t recommend that one. Then I used Command Poster Strips for a while which definitely worked! However, when I went to take them off the wall... they took a bit more than the CD off the wall. If you go with those, be careful when you go to remove them! Finally I settled on the Command Velcro Strips - they seem to work the best and are more gentle on the wall. None of the above options damage the CD case. :)
Are you still able to use them?
Of course! The little hooks in the center holding the Cd in the case hold them up nicely. I’ve never had a problem with playing them and some of them have been up on my wall for upwards of 5 years. I recommend using a soft cloth like you’d use on your screens or glasses to wipe off any stray dust once in a while.
Are you still able to look at the booklets, etc.?
Yeah! You can easily slide out the CD booklets from the little plastic pieces fairly easily! The only downside to this method of storage is you’re unable to see the art/tracklist on the back of the CD, but I think that’s worth the pretty display.
