TODAY'S THEME: DEATHLY HALLOWS

If your character could have their choice of the Deathly Hallows, what would they choose and why?

Sebastian doesn't trust people easily, but the people that he does trust are the ones he doesn't let go of. That being said, Sebastian would choose the Resurrection Stone. He has actually thought about this multiple times, and each time he thinks about it, this is his final choice. The reasoning behind it is simple: if couldn't protect someone he loved, he could just bring them back to life.

Sebastian knows there is consequences to using the Resurrection Stone, but he's not one to pay attention to "petty" things like consequences.

SEBASTIAN'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT | DAY 026

TODAY'S THEME: MAGICAL OBJECTS

What magical object would your character be most interested in owning and why?

Sebastian would love to own a time turner. Going back in time seems like the ultimate cool thing to be able to do, and Sebastian is definitely interested in fixing a few things from his past. Most people have qualms about changing their past, but Sebastian has none of those. Some of his past was really really shitty, and yeah he pretends to live without regrets, and yeah it might change the person he is today, but he doesn't really care. Some stuff could have been avoided if he had a time turner, and then he'd have a lot of time to build up courage to ask his parents things.

SEBASTIAN'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT | DAY 024

TODAY'S THEME: WIZARDING CAREERS

 What Wizarding World profession would your character choose and why?

Sebastian knows a lot of people see journalists in the Wizarding World as vultures and liars, and that's mostly because of Rita Skeeter, but he'd like to change that opinion and become a reliable source of journalism for the Wizarding World. Though the Prophet is the most prestigious and read paper in the Wizarding World, Sebastian wonders if it's been tainted too far to ever redeem itself, and because of that he wants to start his own source of journalism so people can rely on Sebastian and his nitpicky journalism to know information.

However, if none of that works out, Sebastian has back up. He pretends he doesn't need back up, but he also pretends that his second option is his first. If Sebastian doesn't become a journalist or writer, he'll follow in his father's footsteps and do Magical Law.

SEBASTIAN'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT | DAY 022

TODAY'S THEME: CREATURES

Your character is given detention and forced to help Professor Hagrid in the Forbidden Forrest as part of their punishment. They get lost in the Forest and come upon a magical creature, what magical creature would it be and what happens?

Since Sebastian is dating Lorcan Scamander, the resident expert on all things that are creatures, you would think he would know more about magical creatures and their powers and uses. However, he doesn't. In Care of Magical Creatures, he did what he had to do to get an O in the class and then never thought about taking it again. It wasn't a big interest of his, and the only animal he ever thought he'd need would be snakes, even if Fitz has proven that extremely wrong as of late.

If Sebastian had to pick one, it would be the winged horses. They seem gentle, just like Lorcan, and he has heard the other boy talk about them enough to sort of know how to take care of them.

SEBASTIAN'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT | DAY 020

TODAY'S THEME: SCHOOL

What Hogwarts subject does your character dislike most and why?

Sebastian hates Herbology. He thinks it is the most ridiculous class that Hogwarts has ever forced students to take. Not only could he care less about plants, but he also could think of so many other routes to take with a class on such an interesting type of magic. The way the class is organized is bullshit, and it always smells weird in the greenhouses. It's the only class Sebastian has ever dipped below a perfect average in, which is probably why he lost the prefect spot to Malfoy.

Sebastian dreads this class both times he has to go each week. Tuesday and Thursday mornings are the worst times of the week. To top it all off, the class is with Ravenclaws, so he has to see Blaine every single time he goes. It's awful. If he could get rid of it forever, he would.

SEBASTIAN'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT | DAY 018

TODAY'S THEME: TIME TURNERS

Your character comes into possession of a Time Turner. What event would they use it to go back to? Would they change anything about the moment or not?

Sebastian's favorite memory is the moment he got sorted in to Slytherin. It's the memory he uses for his patronus and it truly is a joyous moment in his life. If he had a time turner, he might go back to this moment so he could see his 11 year old face when the Sorting Hat cried out 'Slytherin!' and Sebastian finally felt at home and at peace. He had been worried about being sorted in to the right house for months before he had gotten to Hogwarts, and when he'd seen Hunter get sorted in to Gryffindor, he got even more nervous. The two had been so close that he had always assumed they'd spend every moment as an unstoppable green and silver duo, much like their fathers had been.

If he could change anything, it would be how nervous he was and how fixated he was on being in the "right" house. Although Sebastian knows he belongs in Slytherin and he wouldn't change that for anything, he wishes he wouldn't have been so prejudiced and would have been able to go in to the whole thing with a more open mind.

SEBASTIAN'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT | DAY 016

TODAY'S THEME: SORCERER'S STONE

Your character comes upon a Sorcerer’s Stone, but can only use it for one of its two properties: to extend the user’s life or make gold. What does your character use it for and why?

Sebastian's choice on this matter would be relatively simple. He'd extend his life. His dream is to live forever, after all, and something tells him that the Smythe family will never be short of money enough to have to make gold. Sure, the extra gold would be nice to have, but living longer would be even better.

With the extra life span, Sebastian would have a chance to further his career and his dreams. He can't imagine a better situation.
