Five episodes into Cruel Romance and I can’t decide if it’s terrible or great, but it certainly is addictive (and probably devolving into one of into one of those “addictive pit of feminist shame” shows before long).  I’m still not over the “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” poster being on someone’s wall in 1932 in episode 1, or the blatant product placement for a knife in episode 2.

At least I know it ends much better than Huang Xiao Ming’s other 1930s mobster romance series?
