shaped like a console (fanart/chat)
A few weeks ago, I saw a Let’s Play of Zelda: Wand of Gamelon and Link: Faces of Evil, back to back. The games are somewhat obtuse about direction, so seeing a first time player bumble their way through was a hilarious treat.
I, myself, have never played either game and never wished to because of the strange animations and negative cult status. Turns out, both titles are fun as hell (from a watcher’s perspective, anyway). I wouldn’t mind playing them myself on an emulator tbh.
The animations remind me of ScummVM games somewhat. I do have a little theory that the developers may have worked in the cartoon animation industry before working on these games, but I’m not certain on that at all.
As for the console…? The streamer’s chat had a really interesting discussion about what the hell this console was ‘supposed’ to be and what it wasn’t. I’d say this rando really summed it up best:
