im glad ur genuinely curious and since i already answered the ask game prompts…have this:

cdrw had a few weirdly tense, gayly-charged weeks when chromedome and brainstorm started hanging out like a LOT, and rewind was hanging out w brainstorm a lot too, where rewind was :eyes: and chromedome was :eyes: until one day while they were in their room cuddling they both, at the same time, were like “so brainstorm huh - ”

and then they started inviting brainstorm on their date nights that brainstorm didn’t really realize were date nights & he started spending the night more often and hanging out w rewind and uh. it got real gay! brainstorm didn’t really realize what was going on (emotionally) until he woke up one morning with rewind directly in his arms and chromedome laying on the both of them… good job genius

literally though....brainstorm, the bot The Most starved for affection, suddenly being fawned over and adored by the two most iconically affectionate bots on the ship? he'd combust. rewind would bounce up to him and grab his hand while chromedome walks over and gives him a faceplate-to-faceplate kiss as he grabs his other hand & brainstorm would just die on the spot. every time one of them is like "we were talking abt how much we love you last night" brainstorm just short circuits entirely

ok i alluded to it in the ask i just answered, but can you imagine mechs getting close enough to brainstorm to learn how to take off his mask without having him do it himself...like..... whirl (or percy, or cdrw, or whoever u ship him with) learning exactly what makes him get soft and pliant enough that his mask just snaps back away from his mouth. or them finding That Spot near the side of his face that will whisk it away in a moment when pressed correctly.....yes

The CDRWBS fic concept feat. the Brainstorm vs Sex Toys vid review channel. (Subscriber access only. ;))

This falls under that unfortunate umbrella of "Fics I want to read that I probably won't write and wish someone else would write, but also don't want anyone else to write because I have a Vision".

The worst category of fic idea, gross.

Brainstorm reviews interfacing toys, and the process goes like this.

receives them on camera

tests them on camera

breaks them on camera

inspects their broken innards on camera

rebuilds them less shit on camera

tests them again on camera

gives a self-aggrandising review and sends the company a bill (on camera)

Rewind is the camera.

- He wasn't always, but Brainstorm is not one of nature's cameramen. Rip.

- It is a sexy and hilarious enterprise, which is the exact opposite of a lot of things Rewind has filmed.

- Chromedome... prefers to pretend it's not happening. He does not perceive any of this. Rewind likes filming porn of Chromedome's friend for fun and profit. Okay. Okay.

- Rewind brings both the Improved(? but are they, Brainstorm?) sex toys and lengthy video clips (and sometimes also Brainstorm, the person) back to bed with him "because I don't want you feel left out." Duh.

- Chromedome simultaneously DOES feel left out and also wants nothing to do with it, so having Rewind try to involve him and just accept being rebuffed is actually kind of the ideal solution for him. (Discuss this like adults? Not unless someone has a nervous breakdown, actually.)

- Although he's... kind of hurting Brainstorm's feelings. Little bit.

- Brainstorm is really good at ignoring that though. He likes to pretend he does not have any feelings until he's all alone to process them and get weird and crazy. But! It's not the end of the world.

- (Chromedome is absolutely fine with Rewind spending Rewind's cut on him though. he has not considered this part)

- Brainstorm nevertheless tries to fix this (it doesn't REALLY need fixing) by pressuring CD to get involved in testing

Rewind: we should do one where you use both versions of the same toy but it's a blind trial and you don't know which one is which

Brainstorm: that's basically science. science-adjacent. are surgeons scientists or not. (somewhere, perceptor feels an icy chill and does not know why.)

- Chromedome's review is that he thinks Brainstorm's is worse because it knocked him offline and he does not in fact seek being taken out by sex toys.

Brainstorm: ohhh. so you've chosen cowardice? cool, cool.

- Rewind has it all on tape, ofc, but they can't post it because Chromedome watched it back and won't let them. This is... okay, actually.

so like OBVIOUSLY cdrw said it to each other first, but when cdrwstorm happens, it’s chromedome @ brainstorm. very seriously. it’s dark in the lab and they’re sitting at the computer together quietly while storm works on smth and chromedome is just like “hey. i love you, storm” and brainstorm short circuits

REWIND!!!!!!! when they were still in their not-dating-dating stage, when brainstorm was just “””hanging out””” with them/tagging along on dates, one time when it was just rewind and brainstorm hanging out they went back to cdrw’s room and rewind climbed up on storm’s thighs and kissed him Right On The Mask. bonk.

not so much what the question is asking, but rewind and chromedome both have to drag brainstorm into the showers every few days because brainstorm perpetually smells like weird chemicals and shit from the lab. it’s always at weird hours of the night and sometimes storm falls asleep in the warm water while the other two towel him off and drag him to bed 

Who was nervous and shy on the first date

on chromedome and rewind’s first date chromedome was so self conscious/nervous he lied to rewind about literally everything he had ever done in his life. and then 20 minutes later bust into the train at the next stop to pull rewind out and apologize profusely about how he had done that + rambled for like 10 minutes about what he’s actually like. rewind was like “holy fucking shit this dude is wild” and agreed to a second date purely out of interest.

IM SO SORRY....there is so little content for these three :(((( i also dont know if people who make content for it tag it as cdrwbs or smth else, so that could be a factor in it? i know @bobateebrek is into it too and has a few very cute posts!!!! i'm working on a fic outline rn so hopefully ill have more substantial content for u soon :P as for more headcanons...!

@bobateebrek and i were talking abt how brainstorm probably hasnt had any experience w relationships and is just an AWFUL kisser when the 3 first start the relationship - like, a super bad case of hoverhands all the time, generally rly messy kissing, and zapping rewind way too hard when they do the faceplate buzzing stuff (bc hes just SO much bigger than cd and he forgets to compensate for rewind being Little)

brainstorm picks rewind up sometimes when his joints lock up (due to him being 847 million years old) and carries him around

chromedome is super tactile with storm in a way that brainstorm really didn't expect but like. when theyre in their quarters cd is all over him constantly

brainstorm constantly smells like weird chemicals from the lab and occasionally will track shit into their room which drives rewind CRAZY. he compiles video evidence of this behavior and makes videos shaming brainstorm for being Gross

the 3 of them run a news show together on the ship thats 50% genuine news, mission updates, and recaps, & 50% absolute nonsense, silly videos, and poking fun at other members of the crew

rewind teaches brainstorm how to soothe the chinks in his armor that ache (old bot vs. young bot w a terrible build) and in return brainstorm builds rewind special camera additions and fancy microphones

relationship headcanons (platonic or otherwise) ft. cdrw and brainstorm?

THIS GOT VERY LONG BUT in no particular order:

brainstorm and rewind were decently close when chromedome & rewind started dating bc storm was one of chromedome's only close friends who rewind knew, but they drifted apart much in the way that cd and storm did

after LL once cdrw have gotten through a lot of their shit, they both get really close w brainstorm (and nautica!!) again after chromedome is like. okay. i miss my best fucking friend.

brainstorm ends up crashing at cdrw's room most nights because he just really craves company and nautica shares a room w lotty and they have a spare bed anyway. one night he walks in and collapses onto it before realizing that its been pushed right up next to theirs, and rewind just kinda beams at him while chromedone shrugs and says smth like "it saves space". fast forward two nights later and theyre all cuddling in one big pile

rewind is the only one who can read chromedome and brainstorm's wing/finial flickering language & he can sorta communicate by flashing the light on his camera --> when theyre out w ppl theyll toss lil jokes and side comments to each other

chromedome knows how to touch behind brainstorm's just so so that his mask slides off instantly

@criminarchy suggested that brainstorm's mask fits on chromedome perfectly, and chromedome's visor and faceplate fit on storm, so sometimes they'll fuck w rewind (or the rest of the ship) by switching them around

also from crim: brainstorm took rewind flying once and rewind screamed the whole time because storm is a WILD flier

brainstorm isn't used to affection - he's gotten better w it but not a lot, and he still gets revved up and extremely flustered every single time cd and/or rewind come up and lace their fingers through his or swing an arm around his shoulders or play w his wings.

chromedome tells storm everything; he's one of the few mechs he's perfectly comfortable (or as close to perfectly comfortable as cd can get) around

once they make their relationship official brainstorm is SO happy just, so fucking enthusiastic, he busts into swerve's the next morning w cdrw in tow and is like GUESS WHO HAS TWO PERFECT BOYFRIENDS!!! ITS ME!! LOOK AT THEM!!!

chromedome is rly pleased abt the enthusiasm while rewind is downright smug

if people thought cdrw PDA was bad? these 3 are a million times worse because storm has like, No Shame once he gets passed his initial nervousness.

rewind and chromedome are both really good at clocking when brainstorm is about to have a panic attack being around too many people/too much open space, and they're always ready to calm him down (cd strokes his wings & kisses his hands while rewind talks, most of the time)

transforming is really painful for brainstorm bc of his shoddy build, but his dislike of it works out fine since chromedome is already used to walking everywhere since rewind doesnt have a mobile alt mode - it's one of those things they never bring up that brainstorm secretly cherishes

chromedome and rewind have always been that couple that judge people together, but toss brainstorm into the mix? theyre all awful and silly and sarcastic all the time and it's wonderful

rewind and brainstorm are horribly creative when it comes to thinking up new ways to drive chromedome crazy (in a good way) on date nights

brainstorm sleeps at weird hours of the day and night, but when he stays over at cdrw's room (before it's also his) whenever he wakes up too early or gets in too late, chromedome will very sleepily online his visor and reach out and pull brainstorm into bed directly between both of them so he can't move without disturbing everyone. forcefully healthy sleeping habits!

chromedome and rewind both kiss brainstorm similarly when he's wearing his mask - w little shocks of electricity accompanied by tiny vibrations. chromedome also likes to do this between storm's wings when hes sitting behind him, and it always makes storm jump

brainstorm adjusts and tunes chromedome's hands for him - theyre rly sensitive and tend to ache because of his mnemosurgery bullshit, and whenever he tightens them up or w/e it makes cd feel instantly so much better
