Cece leaned in against Madison after a minute of thinking. She could feel her love for her wife and their growing family swelling in her body, and rising in passion between them. They had their ups and downs- more would only come with Scout’s teenage years and the incoming family members, but Cece knew in her heart that both she and Madison could weather the upcoming storms.
“C’mere,” Madison said, shifting her swollen torso to the side to beckon Cece in. “I feel like we haven’t had time to ourselves in so long.”
“What do you want to talk about?” Cece asked softly.
“Scout, and us.” Madison answered, a small apologetic smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. Cece nodded, and leaned back against the couch.
“How she’s been acting- that’s not alright. She knows she can come to either of us and talk about how she’s feeling; she doesn’t have to take it out with an attitude.” Cece was quick to say, as Madsion smiled at her.
“I was going to say the same thing.”
Madison’s easy going replies made the anxiety-tight knot in Cece’s stomach unclench. This wasn’t bad. Things were going to be okay, weren’t they?
“I’m going to go to bed.” Cece started, but Madison frowned.
“Why? It’s not that late, and you don’t have work tomorrow.”
“I’m tired, Madison-”
“Can we talk? Please?” Madison tried, biting the corner of her lip.
Cece felt her chest tighten, but she nodded, and moved to sit back down beside her wife.
