Charles wasn't in his apartment a lot; just staying "home" wouldn't do any good, hence he mostly explored, talking to all kinds of strangers, although not about anything heavy. It's not like he doesn't have any thoughts, concerns about his situation, or about the city itself— but these were, well, not something you dump on someone who you just met. Didn't really sit down to reflect by himself, either.
Regardless, while he was aware he's sharing the apartment, it's the reason why he hadn't seen anyone face-to-face yet. "Oh!" except now, spotting one of them in the kitchen after returning. "You must be..."
He should know already; Charles made sure to check what the names from his roommates even are should he need to contact one for some reason— however, it didn't come to mind, and so his trailing off got quieter 'till he cut the sentence short abruptly to start differently. "Nice to meet you! I'm Charles, the uh, guy from the second room? The one where you just walk straightforward after entering."
That explanation probably wasn't necessary, but he added it anyway. "Are you preparing something here?"
