Some thingies on Reid here unexpectedly. Also a bit of a surprise with Garfiel & other Knights.

Curious punching is “faster” among stronger people then. Does that imply that Blue Lightning Cecilius uses punching a lot then? It seems likely to me. Guess I’ll see when I check out Ex 4.

Now this could be because the book according to Tappei is unreliable, but it could genuinely mean that Reid didn’t use a sword for his typical regimen given earlier this Q&A Tappei pointed out strong people like to use their fists for most things.

I feel Garfiel’s reluctance to kill is going to be a serious problem one day.

What a stupid question. Obviously asking Tappei anything tangentially connected to the end of the series with regards to a character and not overall is gonna make Tappei not give an answer due to spoilers.

Oh? Interesting Arc 5 Garfiel beats all the Candidate Knights aside from Reinhard. I’d honestly thought Julius was equal to Garfiel and obviously Al has his cheating timey wimey shenanigans to win.

Though, I suspect Julius will probably become stronger then Garfiel in Arc 6 given the signs of massive development upcoming for him.

Lots of stuff on our local emotionally constipated Sword Demon. I do talk about Heinkel & Reinhard’s relationship here aswell since something caught my interest. Heinkel in general actually gets a fair amount of discussion from me here frankly.

This Cecilus dude being matched with Wilhelm in swordsmanship is very interesting given I’ve heard he’s occupying The Strongest role for Volakia. I’d heard he was actually called “The Blue Lightning” so I’d have thought that the guy leaned more into speed instead of actually being able to keep up with Wilhelm with just swordsmanship.

Huh. Intriguing analogy on this Cecilus’s strength Tappei. You are not helping my previous impressions he is gonna be an individual who does a shit ton of war crimes. Oh well, guess I’ll see when I get around to him eventually.

Seeeee, again though. Tappei says you can get achievements with Sword recognized for van, mkay thats fine and dandy. But does the Family Head give those out? Yeah, here it says the Family Head can’t give the achievement to themselves if they haven’t done enough to earn it but like.

That would then imply that just… people mass recognize somebody and they have the van title then? Doesn’t fit to me. It seems like imo a case where the Family Head gives out the title upon everybody recognizing an individuals swordsmanship.

If this is true, that’s actually pretty crazy implications for post-Theresia death on Heinkel & Reinhard’s relationship since Reinhard gets the “van” title at 8 and Heinkel would’ve theoretically maybe need to have bestowed it upon him, implying they might’ve genuinely had a good relationship atleast up until that age.

This also does fit with the implied vibe I’ve been getting from Heinkel that I think Heinkel hates Reinhard van Astrea but doesn’t hate Reinhard Astrea. Sorta like he’s compartmentalized his Son VS The Sword Saint into two different categories.

Huh. Wilhelm doing something about the ill will in the Astrea family is bound to be interesting. I do wish I could’ve seen the question here because sometimes what Tappei skirts around is very revealing in & of itself.

Why I say that isn’t because of Wilhelm being neglectful or just bad with emotionally connecting to Heinkel, but moreso the fact I could very easily see Wilhelm training Heinkel to take his place so that Theresia doesn’t have to fight which is kinda messed up to make a child train in pursuit of that mission when said women is an adult.

There is that “The One to Suceed Astrea” SS I gotta wait til post-Arc 7 to cover, but maybeee I’ll get an answer there? Seems like that’s the place for this.

Never needed the help, hm? Oh yeah, Wilhelm is 100% gonna be helping out L Mathers at some point because he felt he hasn’t repaid his debt to the Mathers Family. Roswaal is absolutely going to abuse Wilhelm’s loyalty for their own plans.

Of course Wilhelm said nothin’ about what happened to Theresia in Arc 5 to the people who loved her. Good grief.. the communication skills are garbage. Though, to be fair? I think this is a choice I personally would’ve made aswell in Wilhelm’s position. It frankly does nothing for Grimm, Carol or Bordeaux’s mental health to know and only in this instance serves for Wilhelm.

This is obviously something that can help Wilhelm’s mental health should he actually talk it through with people and process, but Wilhelm generally isn’t a person to think about such things.

Soooo. This is basically saying Wilhelm’s not seen Grimm nor Carol for 14-15 yrs (depending on the Arc 4/5 timeskip) and even after his ass kills the Whale he never sees them? Hooooh boy, I bet Carol absolutely loathes Wilhelm’s guts since she is raising the child Wilhelm whacked with words of blame that have stuck with him, and Carol is just seeing Wilhelm never attempt to make up for it even post-Whale death.

Curious how Prideful a statement like this sounds regarding Reinhard’s view on others even if it’s not the typical arrogance angle of Pride I pointed out Reinhard lacks but more the bulwark of belief in one’s capabilities.

That’s interesting. I did know he used it against this Blue Lightning fellow based on some Ex 4 art I saw but for Tappei to consider it a spoiler… hm. Is perhaps Reinhard drawing the Sword against some hypothetical enemy connected to why he gains the Van title & is banned from other countries in the same year he obtains the title?

Curious Tappei introduces the Strongest Character in the story literally as among the Arc 1 cast with that Arc’s importance.

Is… that a mistranslation? If that’s not & this is what Tappei directly said that’s a huge ass red flag with Tappei saying that to take in Blessings is connected to Reinhard’s ability to take in “fate” apparently.

Intriguing that Reinhard likes Felt due to the fact he cannot fathom her values.

Even Reinhard’s mistakes aren’t allowed to be “normal” this poor guy.

More clarification on what Reinhard thinks of his “casual clothes” is neat. Of course this guy wanted fancy looking clothes in Arc 1 to scream his profession. Pretty funny that this clothing choice of his makes Subaru in Arc 1 distinctly think Reinhard is too noble & good looking to be a Knight though.

Hm. Reinhard thinking he’s “shallow” to have Heinkel overridden in his heart is an interesting tidbit with how I’ve been saying Heinkel seems to anchor Reinhard to his individuality aka his humanity.

Uhhh… with how distinctly Earth concepts exist in the Re:Zero world I wonder if this is implying Od Lagna doesn’t understand physics and thus if Subaru went yammering on about that Reinhard theoretically could make a request for a Blessing that takes into account those parameters? If that’s true, thank goodness Subaru has not yapped. Reinhard is already busted enough.

So the sword Heinkel got Reinhard apparently in the Royal Selection From Zero side story seems like it’s the same one here. I wonder what Reinhard’s internal narration was like when Julius was beating Subaru mercilessly if he himself beat up his Father in what was likely a one sided showdown like that disaster Duel was.

So I’ve said Od Lagna had a purpose for Reinhard then Tappei goes ahead saying this?? This is so shady!

Intriguing… I wonder what conversations they had over her bedside quietly between them. This habit becomes so fucked up if Reinhard was actually behind Louanna’s condition like I’ve theorized.

Uhhh… that’s implying Reinhard has inherent Blessings wtf? I thought he asked for them hence the “aquire” bit. Is Tappei referring to the fact Reinhard can call up Od Lagna for another Blessing as a Blessing in & of itself?

The fact Reinhard can even remotely think positively of Priscilla after that Lady threatened him and called Felt a “bitch” in LN 4 is miraculous.

Huh. The lack of a favorite food further makes Reinhard inhuman in even the smaller things. His desire for company as his favorite bit regarding food highlights how Reinhard’s mind restructures typical Social Constructs in a sideways fashion like I’ve pointed out for him to get it the way everybody else does.

Poor Reinhard. He probably wants to suck at something so badly but can’t.

Oh? Is that implying there are certain Blessings that Reinhard cannot get? I wonder if the reason that is due to the fact some Blessings maybe are so attached to the Od of the bearer that they are unrecoverable from their very Soul. It’d kinda create a sort of unique Blessing effect where only certain people’s Od’s can wield certain Blessings.

Curious Heinkel’s sword is called that when “Astrea” is a god of justice, innocence, purity & precision. It’s also quite concerning due to the fact that the god Astrea is associated with the constellation of Virgo & was known for living among humans before ascending up to the heavens of ALL places due to humanities lack of virtue.

do you have anything you had gotten spoiled for in re zero ( do you mind spoilers ( are there characters /plots you wouldnt mind spoilers for be it a side story or main)

I do mind spoilers period, since well. I like figuring out thingies for myself. I even go out of my way to avoid character designs if I can before reading a story since my brain (unfortunately in this regard lmao) is too perceptive and I pick up potential plot points from a character design of all things. Look at the Character Design Analysis tag to see what I mean by that precisely.

Anyways. I do know some spoiler things I guess like that this Cecilus Segmunt dude I’ve heard of is Volakia’s equivalent of Reinhard (who also fights Reinhard apparently in a Duel at some point?) that Arc 6 is taking place where Satella is sealed on the map, Arc 7/8 take place in Volakia, Heinkel & Reinhard apparently had a good relationship at some point aswell? I also know a fair amount of some of the IF stories’s premises in general.

Like Prides all about Subaru being an Archbishop that apparently blows up the Capitol somehow, Sloth Subaru gets screwed by some Kararagi Spirit whilst in Kararagi apparently..? That latter one is really weird but eh it’s what I heard.

I basically don’t know the details of whatever I hear if I hear anything at all since I purposefully insulate myself from stuff.

Reinhard being more akin to Reinhack again folks. I do wonder what circumstances led to Reinhard desiring a DP like this since Reinhard only requests when he feels he needs i-

Oh. Oooooooh. Oh yeah. A thought just occurred. So Q&A’s have said Reinhard used the Dragon Sword Reid 3 times prior to Theresia, and only one of those is known to the audience since it happens against this Cecilius dude and the other 2 are a spoiler Tappei said.

What if say, Reinhard HAS actually met Pandora previously and drawn the Sword against her? This very specific DP is probably the exact thing Reinhard would request if he met that loli.
