Kieran rarely dreams, his nightmares are much more frequent. But when he does, he’s always watching himself, because it’s not quite him. He dreams of another Kieran who never developed a mutation, another Kieran who went to school, made friends, joined the football team, went to parties. These dreams still haunt him in the morning. He knows he can never have that life back.

Closed spaces are comfortable for a time, familiar, but if Kieran can’t get out the panic sets in. Open spaces are even worse, he doesn’t know what to do with them. Just finds himself frantically spinning in a circle trying to watch every angle. In conclusion, he’s screwed.

After years of lunchables and mush, Kieran really will eat anything. He adores curry and doesn’t understand how he lived his whole life without mango chutney. But he can’t go near a lunchable, they make him feel sick.

He couldn’t take much with him when he escaped the bunker but he managed to swipe his squirtle plush. Kieran knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep without it although he has no reason to test the theory. He just kisses it on the head and tucks it under his arm. He imagines that squirtle will be in his life forever.
