When Celessa turned into a fashion junkie it really broke my heart. I once walked shoulder to shoulder with her from Dueling Peaks all the way to Hateno Village, making sure that no monsters bothered her, taking snapshots of her in repose. Her adventuring gear was such a great look for her, the dust of the trail making her smile glow all the brighter. And now? She dresses like a mushroom. Oh, Celessa, why’d you have to fall under Cece’s sway? I swear it stung less when the Yiga Clan was pretending to be you!

Celessa seems to be the local expert on Princess Zelda. She’s a great NPC to talk to! I think I rather enjoy hearing whatever it is she has to say...

Also, it pays to talk to her again, because the second time around she said this:

...Which is interesting because she mentions that not just Princess Zelda, but the other princesses of generation to generation. Very interesting lore!

Your last post got my attention and hope you could answer, why you say that Celessa is the most close Female Link (aside from Linkle and in canon) that we ever got?

I pretty much say that due to her dialogue and appearance.

First off, shes into exploring, more importantly, the spring of wisdom and Zelda’s path.

Now in truth this dialogue is just to nudge the player into looking for the spring of wisdom, but I find it a little odd that she’s making a journey /“pilgrimage” to find it by herself.

She unfortunately never actually goes there, and there’s no prompt to start a quest to help her find it. (But that would have been really cool if it was an actual quest)

thing is, normally when you find other NPC along the road they are merchants or someone looking for a plant, spice or even a simple location. But Celessa, form what I’ve found, is the only one actively looking of something to better herself that isn’t “find someone to marry, or find some monster dude, or build a town”.

 (the guy whacking the scarecrow with a torch looking for the master sword and the guy to scared to fight the Lynle don’t count because they are idiots) 

Not that that is grounds enough to call her a fem-Link, but in BOTW shes about as close to it as were gonna get.

Also, shes got enough loose visual comparisons to  make a slightly stronger case:

It ain’t the strongest argument, but its the closest one I can see. Linkle wishes she was this close lol

But that’s pretty much what I mean by the “closest thing to a canon fem-Link”.

Although its still more of a vague notion and wishful thinking rather than a full on parallel, but a guy can dream can’t he?

In the sequel to Breath of the Wild, I really hope that Zelda will be able to meet Celessa. Just imagine it, Zelda, trying her best to get used to the world around her, meeting Celessa and learning how people still remember their lost princess and how she sacrificed herself for them and how Celessa admires her and tries to journey to the Spring of Wisdom. I would love for Zelda to get the chance to see that she really did save the kingdom in the end and that she is a hero just as the princesses she probably spent most of her child admiring and envying.

I’m pretty well finished with Breath of the Wild, so here’s a list of my favorite girl NPCs. There were a lot of cute ones. Nintendo did good.

Celessa has endeared herself to me because of this little bit of text she has only when she’s taking shelter from the rain. She is one of the very few people who makes mention of King Rhoam and I love her for that!
