Celeste and her kitty

i'm working on a project with a lesbian, plus-sized protagonist who is a witch with overprotective parents. she then escapes her house in a small town in maine because she wants to explore the human world. her parents are overprotective because the realm they belong to got destroyed by witch hunters. the protagonist needs to find ingredients for the portal door to the witch realm; her dad has been working non-stop trying to fix it and get life back to normal. anyways, the protagonist (named celeste hexon) meets a bisexual, cursed witch with mental health issues (named lucia cuervo) and they fall in love. they then explore the small town of eclipse together. they then both meet a queer, disabled boy (named kai lin) and form a trio of losers. just trying to find a place to belong. they hang out, but kai finds something suspicious about the two girls. is it romance? psh, that part was so obvious. but they seemed other-worldly, like they really arent from earth.

(the rest will contain spoilers. i dont plan on writing the full story on wattpad or ao3 (i dont use ao3 anyway) because its not fully developed, and im worried that someone older than me will take e idea. i plan to make this a film, and it won't even release for another decade 😞😭.)

celeste and kai become closer, making lucia jealous. she then starts acting cold towards kai because shes worried celeste will fall in love with him (little does lucia know that celeste is lesbian and kai is queer). celeste and lucia get into a big fight, then they start physically fighting each other, which includes using their powers, so they expose themselves to kai. because kai didnt know they were witches. so after celeste and lucia fought, lucia ran away to her "house".

lucia transforms into her cursed form because shes so upset (she goes into her cursed form if her emotions are too strong) and celeste finds out that lucia was cursed. celeste tries to apologize, but lucias cursed form is just a demon taking over her (call me a gacha kid idgaf) so the demon tries to hurt celeste and celeste fights it off, for now. lucia goes half-normal and saw celeste and started sobbing uncontrollably. lucia was afraid that celeste was going to hurt her like her mom did, which leads to...the lore™.

lucia had a great family, until she turned 8 years old. she had a close bond with her aunt, who developed breast cancer and passed away. her mother, her aunts sister, was absolutely devastated. she got into drinking to shove the pain away. she then started becoming violent, which caused lucias dad to leave, to leave her behind as well at age 10. so lucias mom took out her anger on lucia. they both discovered lucias curse, and her mom was so upset that she got angrier and called her filthy, disgusting, ugly, hell-sent, and a monster. lucia ran away when she was 11 and ran to an abandoned house and lived there. and lucia developed so much self-hatred that she kept hurting herself because she thought she was the problem.

celeste and lucia made up and explained everything to kai and his dads. kais dads decided to adopt lucia because she needed a home. they even got her into therapy. celeste, over the course of the story, collected the ingredients for the portal door. celeste went and found her parents, introduced them to her friends and gave the ingredients to her dad. they bulit a portal door, and celeste said her goodbyes to kai and lucia. celeste was going to school in the witch realm once it was reconstructed, and she would come back in the summer.

celeste was supposed to represent self-love and how its okay to be someone society doesnt expect you to be.

lucia was supposed to represent flaws, and how you should embrace them.

kai was supposed to represent what its like to be a queer kid. being alone until you find someone who is like yourself.

the story was supposed to be a queer-coded story that represents minorities, but i dont think some of yall are ready for that.
