Okay y’all. Black Panther comes out in One (1) Week. So it’s time for a friendly reminder from your local NB Box Office Cashier: PLEASE be kind to theater employees when you come out to the movies. The lines are going to be LONG. We are going to be OVERWHELMED and EXHAUSTED. And, despite everything, we are going to be doing EVERYTHING WE CAN to provide you GOOD SERVICE. There’s certain things we can’t do anything about. We can’t change prices for you. We can’t change showtimes for you. We can do anything about a showing being sold out. But there are things we can do! We can tell you how to get discounts! We can tell you the cheapest price of the day! We can tell you showtimes! We can sell you advance tickets! We can get out managers to do refunds or get you passes! If you aren’t satisfied, please, come up to us and RESPECTFULLY!!!! ask us how we can help you with a problem you have! We want you to enjoy the movie! A lot of us also want to enjoy the movie when we get the chance!!!
And now here’s some general advice: -You youngins under 18: Know when your local curfews are! Yes, Black Panther is rated PG-13, but some theaters have curfews where you still have to have an adult after a certain time! (For my area, it’s 5 pm). Know when you can go on your own, and when you need to be accompanied by an adult (have someone 21 or older on deck). If you don’t have someone with you when you need to, we will be forced to turn you away! -For theaters that don’t have assigned seating: I’d try to get there at least an hour in advance. A movie this big always has people lined up from as early as 4 hours ahead of time, but those are the HARDCORE fanatics. An hour should be plenty early to get good enough seats, and the theater won’t open until after the Ushers have a chance to clean up anyway. -For theaters that DO have assigned seating: If you’ve never been to the location you plan to go to, stop by during slower hours and ask if there’s one you can scope out to get an idea of where you want to sit! It isn’t an unheard of request, and we can get someone to escort you if need be. -People planning to purchase concessions: Some theaters allow refills on some popcorn sizes! AMC in particular lets you refill a Large Popcorn if you have a Stubs membership! If you want to cut costs, grab a large and ask for something that will let you share it, then come back for a refill after you’ve divvy’d it up! (Or bring your own container! That’s cool too!) -In general: If you see some stock that’s empty, please let someone know! We’re going to be stretched thin at a lot of locations and we don’t always get to everything! If something specific needs doing, grab an usher or manager and we’ll take care of it! -And finally: Don’t be afraid to call your local theater and ask questions!!! Anything we can tell you ahead of time to help you will make opening weekend less stressful for everyone involved! You never know what you can find on google if you type in a random question!!! I’ve heard this movie is AMAZING and I’ll be seeing it myself when I have a chance, but please do your best to be kind, to employees and other movie-goers alike!

I haven’t seen a post like this before so for all my Choir kid followers: Girls can be Tenors and Bases Boys can be Altos and Sopranos Your voice is your voice and it doesn’t dictate your gender And this goes double for Nonbinary/Genderfluid/Agender folks You can be whatever gender you are (or you can be no gender at all!!!), regardless of your voice part. And if the pitch of your voice is giving you dysphoria, I’m really sorry you’re having a hard time. Please hang in there. There are people out there who want to keep hearing your voice, and it is important. Please keep singing, please keep speaking! Let us hear you!
Mmmmmm bonus cotton you say?
So my friend Daed had an image as his desktop background when he was ~13 that we have yet to locate again. It was a picture of a horse with three eyes, and two mouths that had sharp pointy teeth. I haven’t ever seen it, only had it described to me, but Matt saw it and it legitimately gave him nightmares. The fact that we’ve never been able to find it again has me thinking it’s some kind of cryptid or government cover-up, but Daed insists that it’s the reason he can look at images of creepy eldritch horrors and old gods and they don’t have any effect on him.
