While stuffing her mouth with food, she had forgotten that the male was there. She hadn’t eaten all day, the bar had been full since it was around five pm. First because there was a dumb bachelor party, and after because well… it was friday night. Of course it would be full. She’d spent all night running from one side to the other to deliver drinks, smiles and some food. Not once did she get to hear ‘well go eat Marie’. Her boss was himself too busy to remember to eat too. No wonder she was starving. She was used to eat with three hours difference, especially because that was her diet.
The first thing she had done after leaving the bar was go to the first shop she could see. Get a huge cup of noodles, boiling and hot water, and start to eat. Weirdly enough her old friend was there too. What was he doing there? She didn’t know. Nor did she care about other’s business. The only thing she had done was smile and raise her hand in a small ‘hello’ way. Obviously clumsy and not the way she used to do it. She had a lot more class when it came to say hello, or smile. Noodles were her life though. Now, all she needed was to feel her stomach smile.
The male took a seat next to her and laughed at the way she was behaving. She would have too if it wasn’t her situation. Once she was done, she wiped her lips with a napkin. ‘I think I’ll get another.’ She said with a serious expression before hearing his words.
‘No, I can’t stop! Because my boss didn’t let me eat for two minutes even! Just because of that you should pay my next dose of noddles, Mr Henry. And while you’re on that, please update me on your life!’
Henry has always enjoyed going out to get food, even when he’s been on his own most of the time — or maybe especially because of that, since the other option would be to eat at home all by himself. Ever since he moved into his own apartment a few years ago instead of sharing a home with the other members of Super Junior or his friends, Henry has felt even lonelier than he already has after coming to Korea as a teenager back then. Now, he’s not lonely anymore at all — but old habits die hard, so he often still chooses to go out to eat whenever he’s on his own. One reason for that is that he often gets recognized and approached by his fans, and the smile he’s able to bring on their face just by taking a picture with them is irreplaceable. That’s also why he never tries to cover his face with a mask or anything when he goes out.
Another reason he enjoys eating out is that he occasionally comes across friends or acquaintances, gladly taking the chance to chat and catch up with them for a little while — something that’s usually not so easy due to his busy schedules. And he’s lucky this time, because just when he enters the eating place he catches someone raising their hand at him in the corner of his eye. After taking a look at that someone, he recognizes the female right away and returns her greeting with a bright smile. Henry doesn’t have to think twice before making his way towards her table, sitting down on the chair next to her. Yeah, going out to eat on his own is something he enjoys doing — but nothing beats eating in friendly company.
The musician’s lips part in an attempt to greet her with a Hello, but instead he just lets out a small laugh when seeing how she was practically inhaling the almost empty bowl of noodles on the table in front of her. “Wow,” he then says, followed by another chuckle. It’s not that he minds, of course — if anything, he gets happy whenever he sees people actually enjoying their food instead of worrying too much about it, which is something he witnessed way too many times in the business he’s working in. “Me? Pay?! What kind of greeting is that?” Both his eyebrows raise up when he looks at her, but the amused expression on his face doesn’t fade one bit. Another one of his habits is spending money on his friends though, especially for food, so it’s nothing he’d complain about. And so he orders two more bowls of noodles — one for her, and one for himself.
“My life? Woah. Where do I even start?” The man reaches up to subconsciously scratch at his cheek, his eyebrows slightly furrowed in thoughts. He’s not even sure when was the last time the two of them actually spoke to each other, and the last he remembers of her is — ... actually, he doesn’t even know. Has it been that long? “I moved a few months ago,” he then blurts out, a small grin growing on his lips. “Renovated the place myself and everything. It’s pretty cool.” The proud tone in his voice is hard to go without any notice. “And I’ve finally released two new songs lately — have you checked them out yet? You should,” he adds, his grin growing just a little wider. There’s more to tell, way more, but that pretty much sums it up. A little. “What about you, though? Where are you even working now?”
