Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The dinerās a little less than a half full, and itās past 8 in the evening ā few more minutes until sheās off the clock. Unforeseen ā surely it is and perhaps this is one of those times when the diner is getting more customers than the usual, which is favorable to Kim Jaeguk ahjussi. More customers means added income. Unfortunately for Haebitna and two more employees who are already anticipating their time off, it implies more work, and inevitably, additional time on their clock. Feet bustles back and forth from the kitchen to the booths; a drop of kimchi juice, a light splash of orange juice, some oil from the grilled burgers and meat ā all dayās worth of work on her red apron. Just a few more minutes. Few more patience. Few more smiles. Haebitna encourages herself as she takes her little notepad in hand to take a new customerās order.
Ā Ā Ā Ā A notepad might be unnecessary though.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Her smile ā a bit too tired, eases as she meets a familiar face. A regular patron ā not that heās been at the diner every day, or even every other day, not that frequent. But what sets him apart from the usual patrons is that he has a definite choice of meal. A co-worker even joked about how they donāt need to take his order anymore. Everyone knew what it is, they just need to serve it immediately on his table. This little information could be helpful to at least lessen her workload a bit, but Haebitna is that one staff who would always make an effort to greet every customer amiably.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āGood evening, Xavier-ssi.ā A curt smile is paired with a slight bend of her head. āSame old one? Or perhaps youāre in to treat your palate some new taste?ā
Xavier has his head in the clouds thinking things he shouldnāt be, worrying over people who spare him no thought. Itās been a while since heās seen his roommate, the thought making him look towards the window only seeing his own reflection and the customerās currently sitting against the counter. Nostalgia reminds him, at least heās at a comforting place and so he looks away, phone buzzing as he looks downs expecting a text back. There is no text, just a reminder his money is low and he should probably top up soon otherwise his minutes and internet will stop working. He picks up the phone, slim fingers grazing the screen as it unlocks and he stares at the wallpaper. Itās a picture of guildford in all itās glory at night, a reminder of home always with him.
He hears footsteps approaching, quickly locking his phone and placing it face down as he plasters a smile onto his lips. He always had a smile on his lips, regardless of how he truly felt, a habit he could no longer stop. Xavier lifts his gaze to look at the familiar girl who looks at him, his head lowering slightly acknowledging her greeting with his own.
āAh, sadly same old same. Iād try something else, but I might not like it.ā He tells her, amused that she asked the question in the first place. āLetās get the usual, typical xavier dish. Double cheeseburger with fries.ā
