Fairy Tail Thoughts...
I have this question that has been bugging me ever since I saw the battle between the Celestial King and Mard Geer. Apparently, both of them have fought long before. So, the possibility is that someone has summoned the Celestial King before. The question is who? The only way to summon the Celestial King is to break one of the Gold Keys. But during the time of this fight, no key except Aquarius’s key was destroyed. All 12 keys were with their respective owners. My guess is that someone summoned the Celestial King without the key(another way of summoning?). I also saw some other theories saying that maybe a key was destroyed before but it could have been restored. And also another one stating that maybe Mard Geer was inside the Celestial World when the first battle happened. [Don't wanna give away any spoilers but we know humans cant go into the celestial world but Mard Geer is a demon tho huhuhu.]
For me, i’m very interested in knowing more about Layla Heartfilia’s character. So, what I’m thinking is that maybe Layla summoned the Celestial Spirit King without a key but instead with her life (shortening of her lifespan), somewhat like Angel shortening her lifespan to summon her angels. May seem a little far fetched but it’s just a guess.
