She once lived with a beorc man who loved and cared for her so much and never wanted her to leave his side. She understood and reciprocated his feeling but from any other kinds of perspective, she was nothing more than a bird in a cage. The Hawk and the Raven descended upon her cage and told her about freedom, of stories that her once desecrated homeland had been restored to its former glory. The cage that once may keep her safe from the eyes of ill-meaning people was no longer a suitable place for her.
They eventually broke her free and ended the beorc man’s life. However, he knew that she will break out of the cage, so he had clipped her wings before then.
The term the laguz uses for branded people are “faceless”. But perhaps to the eyes of those people, the parents who threw away their laguz pride had lost their face already. When she realized the change in her body, there were only fear remaining inside her....
