It was a sunny day; Sunny and cloudy at the same time. Pretty odd, but it didn't bother young Gray Fullbuster who was on his way to the guild. On the way, he saw a peculiar device. He'd never seen something like that before and he could sense magic power coming out from it.
Of course, being the 12 year old he was, he was curious and didn't thought about it much before inching closer to the object. Before he even know what was going on, he was already being sucked in.
The next thing he knew, he was unconscious on the ground in an unknown place, woken up by the sound of a man that seemed to be projected from somewhere else saying "WELCOME, CONTESTANTS! YOU HAVE NOW FIVE MINUTES TO PICK YOUR PARTNER OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. CONSEQUENCES OF DISQUALIFICATION: YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO COMPETE AND RETURN HOME! THE REST OF THE RULES WILL BE TOLD AFTER YOU PICKED YOUR PARTNER. YOUR TIME STARTS… NOW!"
Gray looked around and saw a couple of unfamiliar faces, getting up as though they were unconscious before this too. "How am I going to pick a partner from all these people I don't know? Can't I work alone?" He cursed silently under his breath.
