Celestion soaking up some moisture because running the heat is drying everyone out! The high temperature in NY, where the Sanctuary is located, was a whopping 25°F (-4°C for any folks not from the United States).

When we were adopting Celestion, his owner had one request; he needed a different name. He was born as Ozzy, and as his former owner put it, "you wouldn't want to be named after the person who accidentally bit the head off of your species".

Many of our bat friends have celestial or space-themed names. Celestion's name sounds like a space name, but he was actually named after a brand of speaker!

He likes to hang out by the window. His head is too big for his wings, so he doesn't roost upside down like the other bats (we think he is some kind of species with naturally shorter wings). He can fly for short distances though! He is also a surprisingly strong swimmer (though, we are in ice skating season at the moment, which he absolutely declined to do. Falling on your face hurts when you can't brace yourself!)

Some pictures of my latest build. An AC4 inspired amplifier, but with some extra triodes for some extra gain. The tremolo is an OPAMP based LFO coupled through a LDR to the gain control. Nice thing is the preamp switching, where I can use just the EF86 or the 12ax7, both in parallel or in series, with the EF86 in front. This last configuration can really play some old school metal tones.
