Watch REASONS WHY YOU’RE UNMOTIVATED, TIRED & LAZY here.
We all have those days where we wake up, full of positivity, energy and happiness ready to direct this positive flow towards our goals. We know that those are the days where we are the most productive, have the most fun and feel the most successful, yet, every single one of us wakes up from time to time feeling the exact opposite:
Tired, lazy, moody, unmotivated and drained of energy. The good news: this has a reason, which means we can point out the problem, and therefore, solve it.
And because I know how frustrating and annoying those days are, I provide you the 7 MAIN REASONS for feeling low and how to feel better.
Too less/much or bad sleep. Whereas too less sleep is pretty self-explanatory, too much sleep and bad sleep need a little dig-in. When we sleep too long, our bodies are out of there natural rhythm, which causes us to struggle to get going. Getting up early and get moving puts us in a natural state of thrive. Bad sleep or light sleep comes into play when we wake up several times during the night and therefore, never get into to state of a deep sleep. Figure out why you are having a light sleep (mattress, too much water before going to bed, phone before sleeping etc) and you’re close to solve the problem.
No plans made for the next day. When I do not have a to do list to work with, scheduled appointments and fixed times where I need to do fixed things, I more likely find myself procrastinating and wasting time. A timetable puts the right amount of pressure on you to keep moving.
Diet. I can’t stress that enough. Often, we forget the huge impact that our food choices have on our body, mind and soul. Make sure you drink enough water, get enough iron, watch your blood sugar levels. Also, what never works for me is heavy meals for lunch. It makes me feel overwhelmingly tired if I eat too much of complex carbohydrates (potatoes, rice, noodles etc) because all my energy goes to break them down. Note: Since carbohydrates is the most important energy source, I love having loooots of them, but I do prefer eating them as a dinner.
Too less oxygen in your blood. Make sure to breath deeply in order to flush the air into your body and move enough to get your blood circulation going. Walks outside can do wonders.
Feeling uncomfortable. If I am unshowered, undressed, feel greasy and messy (in terms of myself and my environment) i feel the most unmotivated. Clear your body and your mind to allow new energy flow in.
Physical and emotional stress. Nothing is more energy-draining that something on our minds we constantly stress about. Figure out what bothers you, and try to sort it out. You’ll feel so much better and lighter afterwards, I promise!
No proper resting time. Does it sound familiar to you when you feel like you shouldn’t be tired because “you spend the last 3 hours laying in bed”? Just because you rested physically, doesn’t mean your mind got some rest, too. You might have been scrolling through your phone, watched a movie, read a book - all of that means constant flow of incoming information for your brain to process. This is why so many people favour meditation. Resting your body, mind and soul at the same time gives you a feeling of unique relaxation and calmness, leaving you ready to tackle new challenges.
Hopefully, you recognised yourself in one of those 7 points and you’re ready to take some action in order to feel better. If you want to watch the video on this topic, you’ll find it here.
Last thing I want to let you know: its okay to feel down some days, you just need to know how to rise again.
You’ll hear from me soon, sending love, xx
