be careful making wishes in the dark ~ kyungri + tempo
You know that little voice in the back of your head telling you when you're in over your head? Seunghyun had about ten of those on any given, good day and all of them right now were telling him that this was a shit idea. He didn't want to be here, he didn't want to do this, he didn't really feel well anyway- today was much more geared to staying in bed and watching Goong reruns on television. He just wanted to curl up under some blankets and forget the world existed the way it did.
Instead, here he was, waking his way through some second-rate psychic's parlor, probably about to waste all his money away just so they could lie and say that he had his mother's eyes. He never met either of his parents, but since they'd dumped him off beside a trash heap in an alley as a baby, he figured they probably weren't too keen on letting him know who they were. Or where they were. Or why they did it.
That was the biggest fuel for this fire inside him though, the "why". Why have a kid just to drop him off somewhere that unsafe? Why not just kill him yourself? Why not at least leave him at a hospital or something? Seunghyun was lucky enough (or unlucky enough, depending how you looked at it) to be found by someone and brought to an orphanage, but most days he wondered if he should have just died as a baby.
He stepped in through the parlor, nervously turning back to look at Kyungri who was following closely behind him. She was helping him out, as a good friend would do; moral support and all that. He was grateful but embarrassed at the same time- he wished they weren't doing this, even though they were because of him. "You okay? Is this okay? Not freaking you out or anything, right?" His eyes trailed across the walls, searching for exits even through the windows. Kyungri would keep up if he decided to bolt, right?
