Alarm â Ruki and Tempo
celseunghyun:
(...)
God they were quiet, he was surprised, but then as they got closer and actually climbed up on top of him (oh my god) he could smell that distinct demonic scent- it reminded him of burning chocolate. He opened his eyes, taking a beat to notice the maleâs face and hands, before lunging at him, twisting his body to throw them both off the bed and down onto the floor, grabbing him as tightly as he could to keep him from getting away.
âWHO ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!â
Coming face to face with an awakened victim in their apartment in the dead of night, unless he had been sleeping with them, was one of the last things Ruki had honestly expected, especially for them to still be conscious at a time where he usually fed upon them. Apparently his sneaking skill were getting a bit stale, for it almost seemed as if Tempo had been waiting for the demonâs arrival, faking a slumbering state and all. Honestly, the demon was rather surprised with himself for not being able to detect the fact that Tempo wasnât actually asleep when he mounted him, but it was a little too late at this point to start analyzing the problem. At this point, all he could do was fight back.
Without a word, the demon quickly raised his knee to meet with the otherâs gut, pushing with full force to get the other off of him. There was no way in hell that the man of nightmares was going to let some dumb little victim. As fast as he could muster, the demon raised and twisted his legs around the torso of the other man, thrusting his weight forward to get himself up from under his victim before jumping off of him and to the doorframe. Maybe there was a.... more civil way to end this problem.
âLook,â Ruki began, raising his palms against the other and putting on a rather fake smile, âI could attempt to explain myself, but Iâm not sure what you would believe.â The demon began slowly taking a couple steps backwards, now rather unsure of what he should do. Half of him wanted to escape, to exit the house and never return. However, at this point, the victim knew what he looked like, and simply running would most likely result in the police going after him, and in his human body, he couldnât afford to lose his two jobs. Maybe if he could find a way to knock the other out, he could escape. But for now, he had to stall for time.
âYouâve been having nightmares, havenât you, Tempo? Whoâs to say this isnât one as well?â
Hush, Baby ⧠Ruki and Hwasa
The days were beginning to fold one into another, and the demon of nightmares was growing rather bored of this daily routine. Over and over, he would go to his first job, spending hours around the park tending to his duties and occasionally being lectured by some old lady who thought she knew the park better than anyone, then going to his second job where he would cater the lost, drunken souls yearning for some form of emotional release, and then finally ending his night by hunting someone down to feed on before heading back to his apartment. It was boring, truly, and the demon was ready to mix it up. Tonight, he was going to get laid.
Ruki glanced over the bar one last time to see if there were any scragglers still left floating around at 3am. Perhaps he could convince one of these lucky little souls to come back with him, although typically the 3am crowd werenât always the most attractive of beings. Most people still lurking about at this hour had a bad tendency to get thrown out, and typically once their face hit the pavement, any form of sexual appeal in their facial features would be torn away. But tonight, the demon got lucky, as he spotted someone he already knew by name still here; Hwasa.
âStill here, my darling?â the man of nightmares chuckled, eyeing the girl with one last drink still clutched in her hand. He had no idea what someone as beautiful as her was doing here so late, but his shift was almost over, and she was a perfect candidate for a sexual partner. âDid you need an escort out of here? Iâm almost finished closing everything up, and I donât mind helping someone as attractive as you.â
Drinking Games ⍠Ruki and Jonghyun
celxjonghyun:
(...) âYeah, I guess. Did you like the new songs?â The demon responded while bringing up the glass to his lips, drinking a sip to taste the liquid inside. âAw, Ru! You are so cute and adorable. I want to eat you up!â He exclaimed amusingly, reaching over to pinch the maleâs cheek. âIâll accept this condition, as long as I treat you the next one, you gotta drink with me.â He flickered his gaze from side to side then leaned over the counter toward him. âDid someone bother you today? Any trouble with Angels or Witches?â
âNew songs were rather entertaining,â the man of nightmares chuckled, wiping at a wet glass with a towel. This was not the first night that Jonghyun had performed here, and certainly not the first conversation the two had had with each other, but every time they spoke they definitely became a little closer. What definitely helped was the fact that the two were kin, both demons that found themselves in Seoul for whatever reason, and because of this, it was much easier for the two to connect with each other.
When Jonghyun reached out and pinched his cheek, Ruki couldnât help but chuckle a bit. âSure youâre not already wasted?â he asked, smirking as he tilted his head to the side. Truthfully, the man of nightmares had definitely seen the singer drink more than this, but it was always fun to poke at each other like this. It was a nice way to unwind, especially after the kind of day he had. Speaking of which, Jonghyun seemed to be curious about his day, and now that the bar was starting to putter to just the local drunks, now was the best time to talk about it.
âWell,â he began, pulling up a stool from the other side of the counter and pouring himself some soju, âHere was pretty decent. Got really loud at some point, had a girl coated in bandages walk out with some guy that she didnât enter with. But⌠my other job is the one that gets to me.â Truthfully, the more the male worked in this city, the less attachments he felt to his human memories. The human he had possessed was obsessed with nature, and loved everything that had to do with the outdoors. However, the more Ruki worked as a park ranger, the less he wanted to be there. âToo many angel types enter the park and get angry that thereâs a demon as a ranger. But of course, thatâs not something they can report and prove to a human staff, you know? At least, not without pushing legal measures.â
âHow bout you though? How has your day been, huh?â

When they were close enough, her mother patted her head and smiled at her, it was stunning. Her father simply looked at them with a grin, his hands wrapped around his wifeâs shoulders.
It was a truly happy dream.
The scene was set up perfectly for him. It was a happy dream, one where his victim was clearly so genuinely pleased to be having this, and for the man of nightmares, this was beyond perfect. It was a known fact that his victims were more likely to suffer if they were having a nice dream versus already having a nightmare when he entered their minds, for taking away joy that had been planted into the scene was much more fun. Ahyoung was happy, which made the demon even more happy. Her suffering would come rather quickly, and the look on her face when it did would be even more beautiful knowing that he was one that would cause it.
While the girl was distracted by her parents, the nightmare demon decided it was about time he mixed things up, first by changing the atmosphere from a happy, sunny day, to that of a thunderstorm overhead. Then, spotting the kitten that the child version of the victim had been playing with, he knew that would be the best way to begin the nightmare. A wafting stench of death filled the area, and before the girl could look down, the demon changed the happy little kitten to a dead, rotting one instead. Such a sick and disgusting turn would surely grab her attention long enough for Ruki to change up the scenery as well. Yes, this was already rather fun.
As soon as Ahyoung was distracted, the demon changed their location from being on the street to being on top of a large building, sensing that the girl was not exactly the fondest of heights. Once there, he made another demon appear, a fake shadow puppet that went straight for attacking her mother, and invisible chains clamped their way around the young victimâs wrists, forcing her to just sit and watch as her mother was attacked and her father was nowhere to be found. The mother puppet struggled and fought back, but in the end, she lost to the demon, and with one foul swoop, the demon threw the dead body of the mother off the roof of the building before the invisible chains that held the victim down were released. Now this was a rather fun change of pace.
Kill the Lights đ Ruki + Chansung

Whatever the case he wanted away- away from it all. Quickly, he stumbled to his feet and ran the hardest the cop ever could despite the fatigue that danced in his system he wanted away- from their looks, from her and the only way he knew how was to run.
Everything was going rather swimmingly, if the man of nightmares did say so himself. The beautiful suffering of the fire witch brought such great enjoyment to him, after all. Just to see how upset, how distraught Chansung was over the situation surrounding him, was truly a perfect sight to be seen. Between the dead girl on the floor blaming him for her pain and suffering, the crowd of people gathered to witness the tragic event, and the supposed parental figures returning just to see what awful things their assumed son had done, surely anyone would have been taken aback by such a cruel and unusual set of circumstances. But it wasnât enough. In fact, it was only the beginning.
With a small smirk to himself, Ruki turned all shadows but Victoriaâs into water, melting them all into the floor. As the liquid left from the figures began to seep closer and closer to the other, whispers began to arise, the room slowly becoming flooded with both the water and the voices, whispering angry nonsense about how terrible Chansung was as a police officer, and how he would never truly succeed in his field. The strongest whispers off all were from the victims of murder cases, how their lives would never become anything because the police werenât good enough to save them. In harmony with the eerie chorus of disappointment chanted Victoriaâs dying whisper, âWhy did you do this to me?â, and as her voice joined the others, the water began to fill with blood, starting at her limp body and spreading like wildfire, until the two of them were soaked to the bone with the red fluid.
To make matters even worse, the nightmare demon had a beautifully awful plan. With a snap of his fingers, all the lights went out, except for a spotlight in the sea of blood on what appeared to be a jail cell too far off in the distance to truly make out. In the cell, a voice that was meant to sound familiar, yet unrecognizable, that of a womanâs of course, began screaming for help from the fire witch. The demon watched the every move of the victim, making sure to keep the puppet as blurry and unrecognizable as he could until the other was right at the bars of the cell. Only when the fire witchâs hands made contact with the bars of the cell would he realize that this young woman, screaming for help, was one that he was well acquainted with in the past, a young woman by the name of Naeun.
But, immediately after she was revealed, something went wrong. A loud, blaring noise, something similar to an alarm, went blazing through the otherâs head, out of Rukiâs control. It couldnât have already been morning, there was no way. No, it must have been something else. Nevertheless, the demon quickly evacuated the otherâs head, panicked as he returned to his own body, only to realize the sound was coming from the therâs police scanner. But of course, before the demon could escape the situation, he looked down, seeing Chansungâs awakened eyes staring back at him.

Alarm â Ruki and Tempo
Ah, back in this shitty little apartment. The dream demon enjoyed feeding off of this one particular victim, for he had nightmares of the supernatural kind. Ruki didnât feel comfortable feeding off of other demons, but half-demons were a whole other story. This one in particular, who went by the nickname âTempoâ, was one that the demon had been feeding off of for a few weeks now. He had a lot of new people in the past few days, but it was always nice to have the same meal every so often. After all, it was almost more fun to go back to the same person over and over again, and to see how they slowly got more and more tired and more and more frustrated with sleeping. Yes, tonight was a good night for a repeat victim.
Tempoâs apartment definitely was not the most impressive thing in the world. Ruki had now broken into countless little apartments, but few were shittier than this guyâs. However, that just made it easier to infiltrate, for the demon could easily slip in and out with ease when it was this run down. He crept across the floor, like he usually did, and made a beeline straight for the slumbering cambion. As he grew closer and closer, the man of nightmares began to lick at his chops, imagining just what the other would be dreaming about tonight, and how much suffering he could cause this poor soul.
But, as the demon began to mount the sleeping body as he normally did, something felt⌠off. Usually, he would just hop on and enter without a single flinch or hesitation, but something inside of him was almost nervous to be climbing atop the other. It definitely wasnât because he feared to see what was dancing about inside the otherâs subconscious, definitely not. No, this was more of a gut feeling. Something told Ruki that being on top of this man wasnât a good idea, at least not in the physical world. And soon enough, he realized why.
His victim awoke underneath him before he could even enter Tempoâs mind.
The Feast ⢠Ruki & Yura
Rapping his fingers against the small notebook in his hands, the demon gave one last look around the park to see if he could write anything else down, but alas, not a single person was in sight. With a gentle sigh, he opened up his little notebook and began browsing through the names he had listed. Some were of those he had already feasted on, and therefore had a little star next to their names. Others he had crossed out violently, never to return to them again. Tonight, however, the man of nightmares wanted to try a new flavor, someone he hadnât feasted upon before. Browsing through the names and pages of who he had, he finally decided upon a woman who was not too much younger than his physical form, a woman by the name of Kim Ahyoung, nicknamed Yura.
She was a pretty little thing, no doubt, but the demon knew he had to keep his distance while observing her, for from what Ruki had gathered, this girl was a hunter, which meant an imminent threat if the demon were to be found out. Then again, hunters were like a fun challenge for him, for the thrill of being able to eat off of someone who could potentially take him into custody was always a rather giddy thought. He enjoyed a thrill every now and then, after all. But, of course, contemplating that wouldnât help the demon get to where he needed to be. He didnât even have her address yet, which was something he very much so needed to have.
On his walk back into the city, Ruki found himself a stroke of luck, for he had just so happened to catch a glimpse of his preferred victim for the night wandering her way through the maze of people. Keeping a safe distance, he followed her back to her place, straight to her front door, where he calmly waited outside until it was well past midnight. He didnât want to take any risks of her still being awake when he busted in. Once it hit around the time he assumed sheâd be asleep, he pulled out his lock picking kit, getting to work on her door at a fast pace. Strange. Youâd think a girl who dealt with the supernatural on a daily basis would have a better lock system on her door. Nonetheless, the man of nightmares crept his way into her abode, sneaking his way into her bedroom and mounting her as quietly as he could. Soon enough, he was inside her subconscious, ready to have a field day.
Kill the Lights đ Ruki + Chansung
[...]
Fire eyes turned to look, confusion in his mind but then his eyes locked on the form of the crumbled up woman- Victoria. Was she like this ? No, he couldnât have done this. Apologies streamed at the back of his lips but he couldnât speak them- as if something was holding him back.
It was a nightmare- as Chansungâs life had became.
Ruki had almost no trouble gathering small bits of information from the slumbering man, digging through his memories like an old dog looking for a buried bone. An ex lover or two, along with parental issues, as most people in this town seemed to have, were all the dream demon needed to get rolling. And, unsurprisingly, the cop that slumbered beneath him had both. How predictable. The demon didnât need names, only images, and a sense of a relationship, to get the ball rolling. In Chansungâs mind, there were two lovely women that came to surface as soon as the demon dipped his fingers into the witchâs memories. So, of course, to begin with, he created a shadow puppet, a mere figure as it were, dressed it up to look like one of the two women, and dumped her in the middle of the room to look like a corpse. Now it way truly playtime.
The demon hid within the shadows of the room, out of sight from his victim as he usually did. It was easier that way, for if they didnât see his face, they wouldnât become suspicious of him if they were to meet in the real world. As soon as the saddened cop caught sight of the mangled body, the fear that flowed through the air gave Ruki an immense feeling of power. Yes, this was perfect. The witch was suffering just as the demon had hoped. But it wasnât enough. Maybe it was time for some mind games.
With a flick of his wrist, the dream demon caused the supposed corpse to begin coughing violently, showing small signs of life. With a tiny gasp, the puppet girl lifted her head, eyes flowing with tears and blood trickling down her face, a look of horror crossing over her as she made eye contact with the victim. When Chansung had first entered the room, the name âVictoriaâ wafted through the air like a sweet whisper, giving the demon a nice little name to have other shadows acknowledge this one by. But of course, names were only one element of a nightmare; it was useful, no doubt, but not quite yet. There were other games to be played first.
âChansungâŚâ the Victoria puppet murmured, weakly lifting one of her hand towards him, beckoning for him to come closer. It was only a matter of time before he grew closer to her, and before he could even make physical contact with her, she snapped with one last breath, âWhy did you do this to me?â With those words, she fell back into a seemingly dead state, and two other figures, presumably parental-like figures (although it was unclear to the demon whether or not this guy even HAD parents) accompanied by random peers, all rushed in to gape and cry out at the horrible scene before them, some screaming her name, others simply glaring at the cop with pure anger in their eyes. The two parental-like figures approached Chansung on either shoulder as well, staring him dead in the face, and asking him, âWhy?â over and over again. Surely a scene like this would cause panic for the witch, or at least Ruki hoped so.
Drinking Games ⍠Ruki and Jonghyun
It was almost 2am on a Saturday night. The bar was packed, and Ruki was already dealing with drunken idiots trying to purchase more booze than they could handle, as well as fools attempting to seduce women and get them drunk to sleep with them. Men were arrogant, women were tipsy, and everyone else was just too stupid to realize that they were wasting their hard earned cash just to detach themselves from the real world for just one night. Humans really were a spectacle to behold.
However, the longer Ruki spent working at this bar, the more he realized that humans were not the only beings that would find this place as a source of entertainment. Angels rarely came in here, for they were too pure and vile to walk out of their sacred Godâs light, but when they did, my God was it hilarious. Witches and half breeds also found comfort in alcohol, drinking away their problems as if something as simple as alcohol could truly work as a bandage on their shattered life. But the best, truly, were the demons that lurked among the shadows, doing exactly what the dream demon himself did; used this place as an opportunity to find victims, and to make acquaintances.
The singing act for the night had decided to take a break from the stage, though it was unclear if they would be returning for another round of vocal persuasion or not. The lead vocalist took a seat at the bar, and immediately the demon recognized his kind, though he was rather curious as to why a demon would choose to sing in a place like this when he had the talent to feed off of higher life forms than this. With a small smirk, the dream demon slid a glass of whiskey at the other, grabbing at another glass to wipe down just to preoccupy his hands.
âNice act youâve got,â Ruki spoke, eyes glancing at the beverage. âThat oneâs on the house, but only that one, alright? Take it as⌠a gift of friendship from one of us to another.â
What you see is what you get
