5th Full Moon

March 1st is the fifth of the full moons of the Celtic year, it is named after Nuin (Noo-in) the Ash tree. The Ash tree has similar meaning regardless of the Celts or the Norse, it is the connection to all things. In Norse, Yggdrasil, is the world tree that connects all 9 worlds. The lesson to learn the Ash tree teaches us is to be one with all things but also removed from all things. If you are too connected to all things you will lose yourself in the all. You must be able to keep yourself seperate, an observer, to the world around you but remember that you are a part of it and every action or inaction effects the world around you. Blessed Beltaine. From our friend, Joseph Keane of Celtic Revival in Medford, Massachusetts:

A blessed Beltaine to everyone, the first day of summer in the Celtic Year when we cross from the dark 1/2 of the year into the light. Let the growth begin, laugh, dance and sing, life is good. The Beltaine fire was lit at Uisneach unifying... the three worlds and from there the fires were lit at the four corners of the world. To understand more about this cycle and the Celtic Year, I have this video on you tube and it gives a good idea of the cycle of time. Enjoy.
