Unfortunately the poetry I am inspired to write doesn't always line up with the current season 😬. I feel like this would be a fun one to chant/sing while dancing round the circle though!
The fire is in the belly,
And the antlers are upon the ground,
The Sun is pale and waifish,
But butter and milk will make Him round.
The green is in the seed,
And on the Folk under the hill,
The candles so newly blessed,
Can't yet drive away the chill.
So bake the bread for breaking,
And separate curd from whey,
Raise a toast of honeyed milk or beer,
For it's finally Imbolc Day!
